Hello again,
Well I didn't anticipate that it would take me this long to make a new blog post in December, but with all the goings on and attempting to avoid the heat box I craft in during the hot summer weather today is the first time I have managed to find some time to blog. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year, Sydney is already on countdown for the big fireworks display, people already staking out their vantage points. Christmas Day down under was a hot day very much like Santa in the scene on the two cards below and there is no apparent end to the hot summers days we are having which are unusually hot for our area.
I have been making some changes to my blog in the wake of Google+ closing down in the next few months and as that was the only comment system available when I started my blog, in a simple click to swap to the now available blogger commenting system all previous comments have vanished, never to be seen again.
Two final Christmas cards which went to my city physio and local acupuncturist, this was my bank tellers favourite card last year and she has spent all of this year trying to find the red rubber version of the Aussie Santa from Make It Crafty which she found in November at a craft show.
Here are my cards:-
What I used:-
White 12.6.17.8cm card blanks
Cloud papers from 6" paper pads
Distress Oxide ink background (Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans)
Kaisercraft sand and boardwalk paper

Do what you love
Hello again,
Well I have finally finished all 30 days of challenges for this years month of holiday card making challenge with Beccy of Beccy's Place, Beccy has been one very very busy lady commenting on every entry and there are currently 792 entries for the month.
Today's final challenge is to Do what you love... this year I have fallen in love with using distress oxide inks and creating pretty backgrounds for cards with either stamped or die cut detail, so out came the distress oxide inks and I created a coloured background to stamp some until now unused Christmas stamps from a magazine, inked in clear ink and heat embossed with white powder.
Here is my card:-
What I used:-
White 12.6x17.8cm card blank
Seafoam Kaisercraft cardstock
Mauve cardstock ? AC

white embossing powder
Darkroom Door 'Season's Greetings' sentiment stamp
Silver star stickers

I laid all of the Christmas cards out on our carpet and took a two pics as I couldn't get them all in one go, I made a few extra's along the way and finished with a total of 33 card made in the last 30 days, I think I will still have a few more cards to make and some of those are semi made already..... I thought I was going quite mad when I checked through the gallery by finding my name and discovered that one of the my mobile phone entries had kept my blog name as entry name, so here's the alphabet and extra challenges for this year!
Many thanks for dropping by...

Colour Challenge
Hello again,
Well today brings us to the end of the month long Holiday card making challenge with Beccy from Beccy's Place, I have managed to play along with most of the days but was a little stuck with the colour challenge from day 5, custard, cocoa, moss and bisque. I was digging around looking for a particular stamp and came across an old paper pad from First edition, which I knew had the cocoa and moss colours covered, peering through I had a narrow strip of plaid paper which appeared to have three from four of the colours or as close as I was going to get anyway.
Beccy's Challenge was also to surpass last years card record which was 743 cards made during the month, I still have one more card to make for todays final challenge and the total currently stands at 791 with several more hours to go.... and I still have the final day to type up.... 800 or more here we come!
Here is my card:-
What I used:-

J is for Joy and Jewel
Hello again,
Well there are only a few Christmas cards left for this years current month of Holiday cards challenge at Beccy's Place, I am still flitting back and forth as I complete the alphabet, today I have gone back to J is for Joy, I have used WPlus9 stamp and die combination to create the sentiment and decided to try out my Poppystamps Poinsettia Peace set, I heat embossed the stamps and coloured them with Prismacolor water colour pencils and painted them in pinks and red ending up with two cards, the first is a pretty purple using Kaisercraft 'Jewel' paper pad, the second has a more natural colour palette with the poinsettia in red, with some rescued ribbon from a present.
The photo's have turned out not as bad as I thought, today we are having one whole months of rain according to the weather predictions, an estimated 100ml or close to 4 inches throughout today. People in Sydney have had severe flooding and a number of accidents on the roads. A good day to stay warm and dry inside making cards....
Here are my cards:-
What I used:-
White 12.4x17.5card blanks
Poppycrafts Poinsettia Peace stamp and die
Kaisercraft 'Jewel' and 'Letters to Santa' paper pads

Y is for Yeti or Yowie
Hello again,
In an effort to keep on track with
my Christmas cards I have been trying to join in with each of this years month
of holiday cards with Beccy from Beccy’s Place, each day bringing a different
challenge, todays challenge is …. Y is for Yeti or Yowie, I did contemplate
making a yellow Yeti but decided that it looked much better in plain white.
The Yeti or Yowie (Australian mythical
creature) is holding on to his Christmas wish list which I added from the Lawn
Fawn Baah Humbug stamp set, I found the sentiment online and typed it up to
create my own for the card.
I have made a total of 28 cards for
the month long challenge a couple of days I made two similar boosting my total
for the year. Beccy is aiming for more
than 743 entries this year to blitz last years total… just 10 more cards until we reach that mark....

X for Xyron
Hello again,
Today has brought us to perhaps the
most difficult letter of the alphabet for Christmas, the only thing I could
come up with from my collection was from the Baah Humbug stamp set which has a
xmas list included, alternatively using twine or similar to form an 'x', then this morning on checking on the Beccy’s Place blog she had
suggested Xyron and X-Press-It, so I used my tiny xyron sticker maker to
adhere the sheep to the card and added a single strip of gold glittered
X-Press-It tape. My card is slightly skewed on the card, handmade, it some
times happens.

N for Navy and Nativity
Hello again,
Well I have skipped a few days with
the challenges here and there and today I am returning to the letter ‘N’ I have
gone with N is for Navy and Nativity. I had a few problems making this one, I
had it all finished when I realised that the main panel was skewed which lead
me to rescue the panel and attach it to another card, it was then to narrow to
fit the same card blank and I had to come up with something else. Out came a
tent fold card (spine along short side) and you guessed it the panel was too
wide which lead to trimming it off bit by bit.. I then decided it looked too
plain and dug around in my white scrap bag and found the embossed panel which I
cut in half and added to each side.
Here is my card:-
What I used:-
White 12.4x17.4cm card blank
White embossed card (Embossing folder from Snippets Playground)

that I can really see them in the photo clear embossed presents around the
sentiment and Santa. I am linking this one up as 'L' is for limeade which is the colour of the patterned paper.

Well we are up to ‘T’ today with the
current month long challenge over at Beccy’s Place, and I have gone with ‘T’ is
for Trio of Trees, I made two cards earlier this year and decided that I liked
that they had been relatively quick and simple makes and wanted to repeat them
in slightly more masculine colours. I made a Distress Oxide ink background
using Broken China, Faded Jeans and Peacock Feathers, heat embossed my Trio of
Trees stamp by Stamp-It Australia in Silver and used my Paper Roses Merry die
to repeat the earlier two cards, though this one in portrait.
Here are my cards:-
What I used:-
White 12.6x17.8cm (5x7”) card blanks
Blue paper from stash
White and navy cardstock
Silver mirri card scrap
Distress Oxide Inks Faded Jeans,
Broken China and Peacock Feathers
Clear embossing ink
Silver and gold embossing powder
MFT Hand Lettered Holiday stamp
MFT Stitched inner and outer oval
die
Hero Arts Stamp ‘n’ cut Merry set
Paper Roses Merry peek-a-boo die
CCD swirl die
Stamp It Australia Tree-O of trees Stamp
Tiny Star stickers
Adhesives:- Double sided tape, foam
