Tag time…

Hello again,

Well this fortnight over at Christmas stampin’ all year long they have challenged us to make a set of Christmas Gift tags; I'm happily obliging with this challenge. I have also recently rediscovered Pixie's Crafty Workshop and her Challenge Snippet's Playground, this one sounds right up my alley, I have been slowly working my way through my scrap bags to create my cards etc. Di is celebrating her 200th Challenge!!! Many Congratulation's Di.

Earlier this year I decided to clean out my many tiny Christmas scraps and use them up, I decided to use my Owl builder die set called Festive Owls from Cottage Cutz. I cut a huge number of owls out of my scrap bags, and the extra elements with all the little bits using a variety of traditional and modern Christmas papers and then sat peacefully watching the tellie gluing them together complete making them into Santa, Elf and Reindeer owls, this parliament of owls have been hanging around the table for months.

I still have about 20 left so it’s quite possible you will be seeing some more of them later on.

I also made a second set of tags using up my extra reindeer stamps, which I stamped out a few weeks back, making their little jumpers this morning. I stamped a number of reindeer in black and then changed my mind and decided to stamp them in brown leaving me with a surplus as I’m not overly great at stamping, I always do way more than necessary but clear and cushioned backed stamps have made my terrible stamping a whole lot better.

I made an even dozen gift tags, six of each Reindeer and Owls.

Here are my tags:-

What I used:-
Kraft precut tags with plain and curved ends
Twine & Hemp cord
Sizzix and Hero Arts Reindeer Stamp and Die set
Cottage Cutz Festive Owls
Kraft & White card
Various coloured ink pads
Various scrap paper/card
Black fine line pen
Greetings stamps from magazine set

Blue Christmas

Hello again…

Case-ing Christmas has gone monthly and this month it was Steph’s turn to create a card to inspire us, you can find Steph’s Card here. There is a lot to be inspired by, I love all the papers together; I took my inspiration from the ribbon, lace and twine down the side of the card. I have used a digi stamp from bugaboo and coloured it completely non-traditional.

On one of my recent trips down to the physio in the city I stopped in at Lincraft to see what extras bits and pieces I could get to add to my cards and came away with a variety of sheer ribbons and lace. I have used pale blue ribbon and added some die cut stars and avoided the snow all bar the image on the paper

Here’s my card:-

I had been saving this paper, although a generic bought from Kmart many years ago it was still a favourite, due to the positioning of my image I have covered up the tree the paper has on it which was also a blue and green combo. I now have an excuse to buy more supplies :-) I simply have to have some non traditional coloured papers! Maybe I will be well enough in November for the more local Christmas craft fair, I haven't been for several years.

The stopper on the easel card was created using a round digi from Scrap-a-licious Times (bottom one) and one I created in word placed on top.

What I used:-
14.9cm x 10.5cm white card blank
White card
Generic blue card and generic Christmas patterned paper
White glittered card stock
Faber-castell and Derwent Pencils
Baby blue Liquid Pearls
Digital Stamp BUGABOO
Mpress circle dies
Top sentiment circle Word
Lower sentiment from Scrap-a-licious Times
MFT Stitched Rectangle dies
Memory box Die Cosmic Star set
Adhesives- P.V.A. Glue, Double-sided tape, glue dots, foam tape
Scoring board

Second gift box...

Hello again...

Well I decided to play along with the lovely ladies over at Christmas Stampin' all year long and this week the challenge was 'Anything but a card' and I have combined this challenge with Sparkles Forum Christmas Challenge 'Make it Green'.

I love these little boxes and a few years ago created a set which were gifts for my colleagues and contained a few chocolates and a hand beaded Christmas Spider. I printed and rolled up the legend of the Christmas Spider to go with it.

I downloaded a box template from fun stuff to do and printed it out directly on to A4 card. The digital stamp was a part of a Papercraft Inspirations set. The stamps were from Shirley Toogood who has since passed away. She was my favourite contributor to the magazine. If anyone is interested there are still some of the penguin digi's available on her blog found here but not the one I have used here.

For the photo I have closed the box with a mini bull-dog clip but will use a coordinating ribbon when the time comes to package a present up.

What I used:
A4 Green cardboard
Doodlebug Design paper
Large scalloped oval punch
Scalloped circle die (for sides)
Embossing folder-Spellbinders m-bossabilities Trendy Folder
Gold scrap paper from stash
Green Checked Washi
Mini Star punch
Scoring board
Green Ink
Pencils
Black fine-line pen
Marrianne Creatable 'Merry Christmas'

Angel Card

Hello again...

Today I created another Christmas Card- I have been slowly working my way through some digi stamps I coloured during January- I printed 6 digi stamps from a variety of  Digi companies onto an A4 sheet and coloured them while watching TV.

I covered a 5x7 inch card blank with some lovely Metallic Silver paper which has been hiding away in storage for many years, I used two DCWV designer papers one as the background which has some glitter spots the other is the narrow strip with ornaments on it- this paper has also been in storage for ages, I used a doily which came free with a magazine although I used the plain white back. I dies used MFT small flourish die, MFT pierced fish-tails and Marianne designs snowflake, the sentiment is from Pink Petticoat, Ribbon, lace and rhinestone from my stash.

I found this lovely Angel digital stamp quite by accident, I was looking for downloads for an Australian Magazine of the same name and came across one from the UK. Paper Craft Essentials I frequently return now to have a poke around and have discovered some more lovely digi stamps and templates.

I am entering this card in three Challenges
1- Holly Jolly Christmas- Angels and Fairies
2- Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge -215 Decorate a corner
3- Christmas Stamping All Year Long- Any thing goes

After a lovely suggestion from Hazel I am now entering this card into
