For those following my recovery, I finally got to see the hospital physiotherapist, she has never seen my injury before (not a surprise nor has my local doctor, private physio or the local 'regional' hospital) and with my local doctors full agreement I will be continuing to see both physiotherapists as they will each provide different therapies... as a bonus while the supermarket is still a great distance of walking I remain riding my knee scooter, which gives me some giggles with the looks on other peoples faces as I ride past them... 2 ladies have stopped me in the supermarket one had also used a knee scooter and they are so much better than crutches, the other to tell me that her husband had recently broken his ankle and he wanted one... I suppose people are used to seeing people on crutches, not so used to modern alternatives as even a triage nurse at local hospital didn't know what it was called.

I thought I may have heard back from my specialist about surgery date, not yet. I do however know that I am likely to have to go into a rehabilitation hospital as I am having trouble being able to use crutches to get up/down stairs, the torn rotator cuff has not helped matters.

LPoCF #256 Polkadoodles

 Hello all,

Well, we have been having another Antarctic blast, we made it to 2C earlier in the week, if you add in the feels like temperature, it has felt more like -8C over the last few days. Today we are enjoying some winter sun, if you can stay out of the wind, it's actually quite nice.

I recently overheard some tourists who were shocked to see an Aussie parent hand their under-school age child a 'baby chino' for context they were passing by a Cafe strip, I did not feel the need to correct their belief, curiosity though what people from other countries think a 'baby chino' is?

Today brings us to another all-new challenge with my team mates over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, this fortnight we are sponsored by Polkadoodles who kindly gave our team two images to use, I have used an image called Jolly Santa to make two Christmas cards. Apologies for the photo quality, Winter is not the greatest time for photos.

Floating Frames

 Hello again,

We are having a late heatwave here in New South Wales, this week has been 27C to 30C a little too hot for me. I am again joining the lovely ladies over at Group of Seven Cardmakers this month's technique is Floating Frames I chose some lovely new stamps for my Christmas present from Paper Rose called Sketchy Rose, I stamped them in Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured them with Faber-Castell coloured pencils before die cutting them.

I rolled up pieces of washi tape (sticky side out) to temporarily position the flowers over a 12x17.2cm piece of white card stock.  I added foam circles to the backs and replaced each flower, before die cutting the hexagon from the centre adding the first piece to a card blank covered with black paper.

The second card uses the die cut hexagon, I have added an Inkylicious sentiment which I won from Snippet's Playground on a snippet of black paper. Adding some clear (no silver backing) flat backed gems, packet says it is meant to be 'shaker mix' also from Paper Rose. The black layer behind the die cut was traced and cut by scissors.

The two cards together

What I used:
Paper Rose 'Sketchy Roses' stamp and die
White A4 cardstock
Faber-Castell coloured pencils
Memento Tuxedo black ink
Clear embossing ink
Gold and white embossing powder
Inkylicious sentiment
Kaisercraft Hexagon nesting die
Kaisercraft Roses embossing folder
MFT Happy die
Scraps of black and gold papers
Magazine freebie stamp 'birthday' and butterfly die
Flourish of gems clear silver
Adhesives: Foam dots, Double sided adhesive, pva glue
Other: Stanley knife, scissors, steel rule, heat gun.

LPoCF#238 Mirtillamente Flowerz Flow 4

 Hello again,

The weather is beginning to warm up as Spring arrives in full force, I have already spotted one of our local blue-tongue lizards sunning itself in the yard, we have three regular blue-tongues who stop by, each has a tail of a different length as a defence mechanism they can shed their tails if threatened, leaving the predator with a tasty snack whilst they crawl away. One likes to be placated with fresh strawberries... the others are happier to be left alone.

I will am off to see an orthopaedic specialist who will hopefully be able to perform surgery on my ankle... and for a turn up for the books I don't have a three month wait to see a specialist, which would have brought me close to Christmas/summer holiday closures, I am being seen this week, likely to need mri on ankle and hopeful that something can be done... I have at some point (I know when) sprained my ankle with such force that I have ripped a ligament off the bone and brought several pieces of bone with it....

Today brings us to an all-new challenge with my team mates over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, this fortnight we are sponsored by Mirtillamente Digital Stamps who kindly gave our team three images to work with, I have used Flowerz Flow No 4 to make a pretty birthday card.

LPoCF #232 The Paper Shelter

 Hello again,

Winter so far has seen warm sunny days and cool nights, followed by heavy rains which has again seen the main dam for Sydney spilling over, bringing flood watch back to the plains, this time we only had 50mm out of the 200mm+ they had expected, so fewer people have been affected and the Government has stopped a land release in an area which is prone to flooding. We are very glad that the current weather is mild, mind you we are still experiencing our regular cold weather, as the central heating decided last week to stop working, the first company said it would be three weeks before someone could make it out, the second company are sending someone out next week, as the reset instructions are not working... we have a secondary heater which will see us burn through much of what is left of our old eucalypt which was cut down as it was rotting....

Today brings us to another All new Anything goes challenge with my teammates at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, we are sponsored this fortnight by The Paper Shelter, who allowed me to select one set from the store which we all used called Tea Time, I have used three of the set to create my card. Naturally as I layered on the embossed panel the card shifted and it has ended up slightly skewed, and likely only I will notice the tiny gaps where two pieces of my scraps are not quite lined up...
