LPoCF #160 Twinkle Lane Designs

 Hello again,

In the last week we have had a light dusting of snow here in the mountains, which always brings Sydneysiders out to look and photograph themselves in the snow, much closer than a 3+ hour trip to the snow fields nearer to Canberra. One week on there is still a snowman in a street round the corner, and of all the days my birds chose the snow day to bathe in their water bowls in their cages.

Today brings us to the latest Anything Goes Challenge with my team mates at Lil  Patch of Crafty Friends, this fortnight we are sponsored by Twinkle Lane Designs, who kindly gave the Design team two images to work with, I have used an image called Hot Chocolate Girl to make a card for a coffee loving friend, I'm planning on adding a birthday sentiment stamp to the inside.

LPoCF #146 Bugaboo Stamps

 Hello again,

Today brings us to another Anything goes Challenge with my team mates at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, this fortnight we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps who have kindly given us images to work with, I have used an older image called Bobble-headed Elf to make a Christmas card. I managed to make so many cards last year that I think I've only needed to make 20 all year to top my stash up.

This week I started with a new physio, I read the Welcome email with a mild chuckle, at the first appointment they said they will devise a plan for how many appointments I will need. Physio is 8th in 7 years of ongoing treatment... he didn't offer any plans just yet other than 5 appointments in rapid sequence, this is to be weekly for the next 5 weeks, then see where things are. On a happier note  I've waited 6 months to get a new bird, a new baby budgie came home with us after my appointment, he is called Rolly, he is quite an acrobat and yes he likes rolling between his legs, he's also the first bird I've ever had that chooses to sleep on the floor under his seed container, I think he still wants to be in a nest like environment.... he kindly alerted me just after I'd settled down to go to sleep that the other budgie who has had a stroke had fallen off his perch by loudly screeching until he'd been put back on his perch....

Scrap papers from Doodlebug 'north pole' paper pad (it's almost all gone!)

Merry Fishmas

Hello again,

Many thanks to those of you who have asked if we are safe from the Bushfires currently burning in NSW, the nearest fire to us is about 50km away and is mostly burning in deep bushland where there are few houses and settlements, it has currently burnt through 189,980 hectares of mostly bushland. We did have a smaller fire closer to home, three towns away which unfortunately started after a house fire, it burnt through just 77 hectares of bush they lost two sheds and a caravan, (information courtesy of my neighbours 17yo son, who is a bushfire fighter with our local brigade) before it was extinguished. Thankfully this fire was in a southern valley which doesn't tend to burn during the summer months when the winds are mostly from the north.

I have been a little naughty, doing some extra colouring (and gardening, but that's another story). I bought this digi from Just Ink lined ages ago with the intention of making a Christmas card for my Uncle who always asked if he could go fishing in our now empty/broken fish tank, a standing joke each time he came to visit... Just Ink Lined appears to have closed down.... I have hidden the hanging hole in the paper pad under the sentiment

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 12.6x17.8cm card blank
blue polka dot paper
Just Ink Lined 'A Christmas Fish'
Faber-Castell and Derwent coloured pencils
scraps of black cardstock
Fiskars scalloped border punch
MFT pierced oval and pierced fishtail flags dies
Pebbles Home for Christmas paper pad
Sentiment from Create with TLC
Wink of Stella (over the fish bowl)

LPoCF Make a wish

Hello again,

I'm feeling the winter chill today, we rarely get snow that settles and this week woke to 4 inch deep snow fall which caused the Police to close the local area to all cars, which was followed up by a mini blizzard the next morning, thanks to an Antarctic blast. Just to add to all of this we have had a slow leak in the ceiling which dripped all over the book shelf I keep my card making supplies in, which means I have had to have a forced clean up and the ceiling has had to be cut open to find the location of the problem meaning our house looks like a craft bomb has hit it, my supplies are everywhere while the ceiling/roof timbers dry out and then it can be repaired... so it turns out that the hot water heater over flow pipe that runs to the outside of the house was never sealed when it was installed more than 40yrs ago and it has slowly move apart leaving a gap of 3 inches where there was no pipes connected...

Today brings us to a new challenge with my lovely team mates over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends which is as always Anything goes, this fortnight we are sponsored by Emerald Faeries who generously gave the design team two images to work with, I have used the super cute image called Jewel to make a very girly card. I'm currently unable to find the digi sentiment on my pc, not sure if it is the one that appears to not want to play after my recent upgrades.

Here is my card:-
What I used:-
White 12.6x.17.8cm card blank (5"x7")

Hello again,

A lovely Spring day here in Australia, we have been treated to a cloudless sky all day today. I have finally found some time to type up two of my Christmas cards I made earlier this month.

Here are my two cards:

On this first card I have used some of my Kaisercraft paper pad and I think a piece of paper from a magazine, along with a cute Santa image from Digi Stamp Boutique which used to have its own store but is now with Lily of the Valley, who are sadly having to close down all their digital stamps come the end of September.

On the second card I have used another of Digi Stamp Boutique's cute Santa images, a white embossed panel and some scraps from my Christmas bag, I even used the strip leftover after cutting the scalloped border with my border punch.

What I used:-
2 white 12.6x 17.8cm card blanks
Kaisercraft 'Yuletide' papers
Magazine Freebie paper
Snippets of Christmas papers
Embossing folder from China
MFT Stitched Square and Fishtail Flags dies

Trio of Christmas cards

Hello again,

Back to share a few more Christmas cards, these three cards all feature images from DigiStamp Boutique, the first has three of the cutest and fluffy penguins which I coloured brightly to go with some of my Doodlebug Designs Paper, adding a die cut sentiment and a few stars to finish off.
Note:- DigiStamp Boutique are having a sale at the moment 50% off all in store.... apologies for enabling you 😁

The second card has a super cute Pug decked out in some reindeer antlers, teamed up with a sentiment from Memory Box set ‘Here comes Santa Paws’ a very clean and simple design for me.

My third card features a little robin carol singing, with a corner holly die and a poinsettia to finish off the card, the sentiment was embossed in 32C heat and the embossing ink was much faster in drying out, at least I didn’t have the heat gun on for long.

I added plenty of sparkle to each of the cards, on the first and third card with Glitter paint and on the little Pugs antlers and star ornaments a liberal coating of Wink of Stella.
What I used:-
5x7" card blanks (12.6x17.8cm)
Cardstock-teal, red, white, olive green
Patterned papers from my stash-various brands, Kaisercraft, doodlebug designs, some magazine freebies
Derwent and Faber-Castell Pencils

Wonderful Day

Hello again,

I know I was complaining of all the summer heat before but we have had every single day of this month has been wet, wet, wet. Current local rainfall for the month stands at 333mm that is one entire school ruler worth and some (13.11inches), we don't have proper storm water drains around here but could use some when the weather is like this, cars quickly become aqua-planes due to the amount of water flowing down streets. Much safer to stay inside and play with craft supplies I mean keep tidying my supplies! 😉

This card was made for one of my Mum’s friends, pretty, purple and anything you like was the request, I am still loving cute little hedgehogs and have coloured a few the last couple of weeks, so one found a home.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-

White 12.6 x 17.8cm card blank (5x7”)

Amethyst & Pool AC cardstock

White card for printing

Digi image from Di’s Digital Images

Design papers from Sugar and Spice Studio’s (Spotlight store for those in Aus)

Purple bakers twine

Fiskars scalloped border punch

MFT pierced Oval Die

Inkylicious Sentiment stamp (from the Playground)

Clear embossing ink

WOW black embossing powder

Enamel like stickers (Reject Shop for those in Aus)
Apologies for the photo, due to the weather I had to photograph with a light on, balanced in my hand along with the camera.
