Bugaboo Christmas in July Recipe Day 5

Hello again,

Well we are past the half way mark in this years annual Christmas in July celebration and challenge week, today brings us to Humour me Wednesday and a recipe challenge.

Recipe:
Make it Funny (Crabby Cat and Sentiment)
Use scallops (Lawn Fawn Stitched scalloped border)
Bling (sequins)
Layers (four)

I chose Crabby Cat Christmas from my collection of Bugaboo images simply because I had to use this hilarious sentiment from Create with TLC from last years Christmas Digi Club, my Uncle will probably receive this card and it will give him a laugh… Paulette has relaunched her store this year and right now only a fraction of the Christmas sentiment kits she has in her collection are available with more to come undoubtedly as the Festive season approaches. This month Paulette has join forces with Desire from her Design Team to host an all new Challenge- Anything goes with a TLC image or sentiment challenge.

Here’s my card:-

What I used:-
White 5” x 7” card blank
Faber-Castell and Derwent Pencils
Rouge Cardstock (AC)
DCWV Glittered Christmas stack
Brown, Green & White card scraps
Lawn Fawn Stitched Scallop die
Memory Box Grand Merry Christmas
MFT Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX
Poppy Stamps Die Peaceful bird
Sequins from stash
Fine Line black pen
Adhesives:- Double-sided tape, foam tape and Diamond Glaze

I would like to enter this card in:-
Create with TLC Challenge #1 at Doing life Anything goes with TLC

Thank you for looking in…
Have a wonderful week

P.S. A huge THANK YOU to all the lovely ladies for taking the time to leave me a comment, your kind words are truly appreciated.

Christmas Kittens

Hello again,

Well after several weeks away from my blog, I have shared seven birthday cards for the coming year in Bugaboo’s sixth birthday celebration and now it must be time to get a head start on the year’s Christmas cards.

I have combined the Stamp of the Month stamp from From the Heart Stamps a really cute pair of kittens and a sketch challenge from the 12 Months of Christmas to create my card and I'm using up some paper which I've had for ages.

If you would like to join in with the From the Heart Stamps, Stamp of the Month Challenge you can purchase the Cozy Kittens image and sentiment set and the next challenge image will be emailed to you for free alternatively buy $10 worth of digi's and enter the code found here to receive the digi for free!

I have cut and scored my own card since I have a stack of envelopes I bought and no cards actually fit, so dimensions are 11.5cm x 17.5cm to fit a 12cm x 18cm envelope… you will probably be seeing several more cards in this size until envelopes are gone…

Here’s my card:-

What I used:-
First Edition Paper Pad:- Christmas Village
White Card stock cut to 11.5 x 17.5cm
My Favourite Things Stitched Rectangle Die
My Favourite Things Pierced Fishtail Flags
My Favourite Things Sentiment Strips
Bella! Droplets

Some extra Christmas Crackers

Hello again,

I hope you all have had a very Merry Christmas, had a lovely time celebrating with your families, I had a quiet Christmas at home with my parents…but my brother announced quite late (already posted the bulk of the Christmas Care package) that he and his family would be coming, my niece really announced this as you can imagine an excited 10 year old “I'm getting two Christmases this year!’, so just as well the second box of presents hadn't been sealed with the previously seen Christmas Crackers, I have now had to make a second set for us too, everyone needs a Christmas Party Hat... hehehe I got to pick my own...

I have used the three paper remnants from the previous set of crackers, added six more tags (they are back to back) scoured my very messy desk for some coloured images, which I thankfully found all three from different digi stamp companies. Scraps of white card to die cut the tags, scraps of cardstock, I basically started cleaning up my table and used what I found.... its really really messy!!

Here are my Christmas Crackers (set 2):-

What I used:-
Paper remnants from previous set
Coloured cardstock remnants from my scrap box red, yellow and blue
Faber-Castell and Derwent Pencils
Twine in various colours from stash (including a scrounged piece from rubbish bag)
Silver ribbon from $2 shop
Cracker strips from Riot art (Australia)
Gel ink pens in co-ordinating colours
W Plus 9 Timeless tag die
Lifestyle crafts Nesting rectangle dies
Mpress nesting square die
Steel ruler, Stanley knife, craft cutting matt

Adhesives:- Double-sided tape, PVA glue

I would like to enter these crackers in:-

I'm not sure that two Christmases is good for the doctors diet, let alone having added a third!! (another family catch up which has previously happened in August!)

Wishing you and yours a Happy, safe, peaceful and Healthy New Year

Many thanks for looking in...
Happy New Year...

Je suis Paris Joyeux Noel

Hello again...

I have been thinking about joining in a few of the month long card challenges before they close at the end of the month so this card is a combination of many...

Over at the Sweet Stampin' Christmas Challenge they would like to see stars

Beccy's Place is celebrating a whole month of Christmas card making with more inspiration each day, mine comes from day 15 Christmas trees

Christmas Cards all year Round would also like to see Christmas trees

I had several trips back and forth considering this month's Case-ing Christmas Challenge #31 to decide just what I would take from this month’s case card made by Donna, I decided to take my inspiration from Donna’s three trees and use a similar colour scheme, in light of what recently happened in Paris I  used the French flag for the colour layout and using a single word sentiment as a reminder of what the season is about...

Over at the Glory of Christmas Challenge the ladies would like to see a Clean and Simple card or the other option is anything goes, I think my card is fairly clean and simple...

Hazel and her team are always glad to see any Christmas make at each months Christmas Challenge Extra...

Across the ditch (well in Australia) the Creative Craft Cottage ladies would like us to make a Christmas Creation

Finally late last night the lovely ladies over at Jingle Belles challenged us to use up or Holiday Leftovers, I'm always up for using my large piles of scrap so...

Okay so I just remembered that the team over at Pile It On's Challenge is Any Holiday or Celebration, I think I've piled lots of challenges on to one card ;-)

Here’s my card:-

As I left quite a bit of space below the trees, I'm wishing that I had placed them a little lower... never mind

What I used:-

  • White 10.4cm x 14.8cm card blank
  • Paper scraps from two different paper pads (Bo Bunny ‘Elf Magic’ & Doodlebug Designs ‘Santa Express’)
  • Silver & black glitter card from scraps
  • Memory Box Die Sketchbook Peace
  • Tree die from Sizzix and Hero Arts pack Reindeer and Trees
  • Adhesives:- Double sided tape, Glue dots, Xyron Create-a-sticker

I would like to enter this card in:-

Beccy’s Place- Month of Holiday Card making (inspiration from day #15 Christmas trees)
The Glory of Christmas Challenge #72- Clean and Simple or Anything goes
Jingle Belles Holiday Leftovers- apart from the layer of design paper all are scraps

I saw the digi image online several years ago and had to get it, it is a little elf playing with a couple of baubles, by Birdie Brown, as Torico has closed her store the little elf is no longer available. I have lots of beads from left over beading glut when I was selling other angels, fairies and decorations at a local shop several years ago... and I've forgotten how much the wires can hurt!!!
