Hello

Hello again,

Long time no see! I haven’t been feeling very creative of late but last month I had to have a go at the lovely prize I won from Miss Di over at  Snippets Playground earlier in the year, I have been planning this post for the last few days, planning on showing you the two cards I made with the same die, using the scraps from one for the other and vice versa, but I took one of the cards along to show the bank teller I talk craft with while doing my banking and have mislaid the opposite card and the most recent DT card… never mind it will turn up.

I knew what I wanted to do with the lovely MFT die when it arrived, complete contrast with black and white with a bright sentiment and a pop of a colour. As I’m fairly new to real stamping I have only a minimum of stamps and small collection of ink pads, so I went with pink. If I had thought about it I could have inlaid the sentiment, but didn't think and added it on top...

I love that the pieces are uniform sizes, it means I don't have to worry about getting them in exactly the right spot.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-

White card stock to make a card blank

Black, white and pink card from the scrap box

Metallic Pink sequins

Hello again,

Prize 3 Images

Don’t forget to stop by my team mates blogs to check out some more fabulous inspiration.

I am using an image from our sponsor, Fabrika Fantasy called Water Fairy, I decided to use the pre coloured image to make my card, I found a piece of paper from an old magazine freebie cover book which worked well with the image colour and a scrap of coloured cardstock from my box of bits. I printed the image twice so I could layered the little fairy on top of the flower adding some dimension, I decided that there was too much white behind her and used a tiny star stamp from a Christmas set to add some silver stars, I should have cut a mask for the flower and fairy but did things the hard way… Then fussy cut her wings out on the 1st image and die cut the circle leaving the wings poking out from the circles edge layering the fussy cut second fairy onto the image. As a final touch I added four forest mushrooms cut out in purple and metallic cream card attaching them with foam tape to add dimension.

I've Been Everywhere Man...

Hello again,

Well I’m back with another male birthday card, I made this one for my Dad who bought an old mini school bus several years ago and converted it into a caravan for him and Mum to go away in, I have used a digi image I won from Beccy’s Place and I paper pieced the caravan in layers, adding a thin layer of PVA glue to give the outside a bit of a shine, I did it on purpose (not) another accident with too much glue and it spreading everywhere even after applying it carefully with tiny toothpicks.

No there aren't any places around the harbour that you can pull up and make camp, although it doesn't stop some people.... mini vans often hired by back packers park in car parks near our beaches and sleep the night there... no facilities a take away dinner or cook dinner on a park barbecue to enjoy the views.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-

White card blank 5x7” 12.6x17.8cm

Ultimate Crafts Sights of Sydney dies

Merci Papers (Big W in Aus.)

Kaisercraft Sandy Toes Paper

Grey, Sandstone and Metallic cream paper from scrap box

Various scrap papers to piece the Caravan

Black fine line pen

MFT Sentiment stamp curved to line up with the Harbour Bridge

Sprinkled Sugar stickles

Double sided tape, PVA Glue, foam dots

Classic Cars

Hello again,

Well this card is one I have had in mind for my Uncle after making this one with one of my new CCD dies, I had planned on using multiple of the cars on the original card, but they didn’t fit. I had a minor slip up when making this card and ended up adding a thin layer of PVA glue to each of the cars to add some sheen to them after a slightly too large a drop spilled on to the VW Beetle, leaving it looking obviously shinier than the other two.

Here is my card:-

What I used:
White 5x7” card blank 12.6 x 17.8cm
Kraft cardstock
Design papers from a $2 shop (Rosie’s Studio Transit Lounge)
Black, white, green, red and blue card from scrap box
Marianne Design VW Die
CCD Car Die 1
CCD Car Die 2
Ranger Liquid Enamel
Colorbox Charcoal ink pad
Black fine line pen
MFT pierced fishtail flags die
Typed sentiment
Foam tape, Double sided tape, PVA glue

Teen Boy Birthday

Hello again,

Today I am sharing a card I made for my neighbours eldest son, who shall we say is a typical teenage boy, grunts for answers, sleeps all he can etc. I often see him coming home from work with his headphones on so I used my new CCD headphone set and also a set of stamps from China.

I used a sanding block to distress the black cardboard, then having decided where I wanted the main panel to go I worked my way around the card stamping various splatter stamps in Versamark ink and heat embossing in clear ink to give some extra interest to a fairly plain card. I used my rectangle dies to create the frame and raided my scrap box to die-cut and fill in the pieces in the headphones. The sentiment is a combination of a CCD and MFT stamp set, I finished off my card with some paper stars cut with Marianne Design Die Star Punch.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-

White 5x7” 12.6x17.8cm card blank
Couture Creations nesting rectangle set
CCD Headphones
CCD Happy Birthday set
Cheap Chinese Stamp set
MFT Label maker Stamp
Marianne Design die Star Punch
Pebbles Basics Paper pad
Black card stock
Silver, red, black paper from scrap box
