Happy Birthday Giraffe

 Hello again,

We are expecting snow here this week, we don't often get snow but have had some the last two winters. It brings Sydneysiders out and about in hopes of seeing snow without the multiple days travel or flight to our snow fields in Alpine regions of New South Wales, Victoria or Australia Capital Territory...

Today brings us to another all-new challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends and this fortnight we are sponsored by Mirtillamente Digital Stamps I have used a digital stamp called Almost Cute Giraffe to make a birthday card. I have used an ancient sketch from somewhere, I am now having trouble finding it again

LPoCF #222 Stream Side Studios

 Hello again,

I hope you have all had a wonderful start to the New Year, mine has been quiet, hot and wet. Summer brings our area large numbers of tourists, some of whom have difficulty following 'closed' signs. Three helicopters to rescue and/or check people were safe to wait for local Police Rescue squad to walk into their location on closed hikes and then walk them out. Undoubtedly discussing why some areas are closed. In our case there are multiple landslides in the bush, affecting the hikers, canyoners, and 'photo opportunity' seekers for IG. Sorry for the rant, two years ago a father and son died in a landslide in the valley.

I am back again with my teammates at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, this fortnight we are sponsored by Stream Side Studios who kindly allowed each of us to choose a digital set to work with I chose Berry Sweet Mice

Twin Trees

 Hello again,

Well, I am back with a pair of Christmas cards, to join in with some of the current challenges, getting ready for Christmas.

I followed the instructions with the Group of Seven Cardmakers ladies to make this pair of cards, heat embossing the background using Kaisercraft 'script' stamp (5cmx13cm) four times for each card, I did this on a cooler night as the days before have been more like Summer, placed the Christmas tree stencil from a magazine over, inked with Mowed Lawn, Candied Apple and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink. Sentiment stamped onto scraps of red card stock and heat embossed in white powder.

What I used:
Kaisercraft 'Script' clear stamp
Christmas Tree Stencil
Stitched rectangle die
MFT Christmas Stamps (sentiment)
2 white 12.6x17.8cm card blank (5x7")
Clear and White Embossing powders
Distress Oxide Inks, Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber, Mowed Lawn,
Red cardstock
Adhesives:- Double sided tape

I would like to enter these cards in:

Two visitors in the garden, Australian Magpies, adult bird at the front, baby bird at the back. As sweet as some Magpies are others are extremely territorial and these birds are known to swoop, sometimes causing severe injuries to those who wander, ride, play too close to their nests.

Have a wonderful week...

LPoCF All Dressed Up

Hello again,

Today brings us to another all new Anything Goes Challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, this fortnight we are being sponsored by All Dressed Up who kindly gave the team two images to work with, one being this cute image Koala Hugs, I have only ever seen one wild Koala, while on a holiday as a kid, we wondered why all these people were gathered around the base of a tree, one pale grey backside was all you could see many metres above the ground.

Card making mojo is still missing and family history has been going great guns, I have been helping a friend start their tree and finding some interesting 'secrets' which have needed careful consideration of older generations...

Weather wise, a week of high winds peak gusts at 97km/h have seen branches in trees snap and then need cutting up for the green waste bin, grey wintry days with a few lovely sunny ones and if the wind is not blowing they are lovely and warm (well for here).

Did you know that there are over 600 varieties of Eucalyptus trees and Koala's can only eat about 50 of them...
