Merry Christmas

 Hello again,

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, I hope you all have a wonderful time spent with family and friends and some delicious food... I will be back online after Christmas hopefully before New years...

Well Christmas is upon us, after lunch today I am starting to make the dessert for tomorrow... we are expecting summer highs of 27C tomorrow and getting warmer as the weekend approaches.

I need to print off some gift tags today as I have run out and so has the local store, I made this card for a friend who is travelling to see his parents for Christmas at the beach... the top seems to lean a little forward and perhaps the sentiment should have been placed down one side...

Ho Ho Hot!

 Hello again,

Today the sentiment on this card rings true, we are in the midst of a heatwave, fourth day above 30C.

I am still working my way through some of the prompts for Beccy's Place Annual month long Holiday Cards, of Beccy's Sandy Christmas images, I found some clear stamps that are new too! While looking at Black Friday  sales. I scrolled through my Pinterest Sketches board for a suitable sketch I found this sketch from a lady called Tina and her blog called My Therapy, My Creations and decided that the Sandman with Surfboard would look good.

Here is my card: -

Colour Change

 Hello again,

I am still playing catch up with some of the prompts for this months Holiday card Challenge at Beccy's Place, on day 8 the challenge was to Change colours, I have used a digi image of a Cockatoo from Ericraft not sure if she is still selling, using the same layout one coloured to fit with my current self challenge to use up one paper pad, I am down to three card fronts now!

We have a local a few towns away who is feeding the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo's on whole loaves of bread, whilst they enjoy the free feed (not their natural diet), they are becoming aggressive to anyone eating in the street, including a small child who kept moving around her Mum trying to keep away from the large bird... they can be from 44 to 55cm long...

Card 1- sun was in

Card 2 sun came out...

What I used: -
White 12.6x17.8cm card blanks
Cockatoo with Christmas Present
LilyBee 'Christmas Cheer' paper pad
Red and Brown cardstock
Kaisercraft 'Under the Gum leaves' paper pad
MFT Stamps Itty Bitty Christmas
Tuxedo Black ink
Brads in brown and silver
Seam binding red and gold
Natural 1mm string
Adhesives: Double sided tape

Ripper Chrissy

 Hello  again,

I keep diverting from that scrap paper pad, I am down to four card fronts to finish off, I have used another of Beccy's Place Sandman images for another Aussie card, adding some clouds in the sky and stamping on another sentiment from Beccy's Place Aussie Christmas clear stamps.

Bucko and Champs Ripper Christmas

In Australia we have a Christmas Album from two men called Bucko and Champs, one being called Colin Buchanan and the other called Greg Champion, they have created Aussie Versions of traditional carols, when I was a preschool teacher, we always taught the children part of Aussie Jingle Bells from the same pair, Colin was also a fixture on Playschool... most of their songs are light hearted and fun, others reflect on loneliness and the 1974 cyclone 'Tracy' that struck Darwin in the small hours of Christmas Day killing 66 and decimating 80% of the city.

Here is my card: -

What I used: -
White 12.6x17.8cm card blank
Kaisercraft 'sandy toes' papers
Faber Castell and Derwent coloured pencils

LPoCF #242 Sheepski Designs

 Hello again,

Well, my appointment didn't go as planned, I had hoped that the bony fragments would be removed, instead they are going conservative treatment with the plan to refer me to an Associate Professor in the new year after a 'diagnostic' injection of cortisone and anaesthetic to my ankle. My GP thinks that I may need a replacement ankle which was not an option 10 years ago.

Today brings us to an all-new challenge with my team mates over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, this fortnight we are sponsored by Sheepski Designs who kindly gave our team three images to work with I have used on called Pressie Time in the spirit of using up my scraps from one paper pad I have used one of only two whole sheets to create my card.

Final Christmas cards for 2018

Hello again,

Well I didn't anticipate that it would take me this long to make a new blog post in December, but with all the goings on and attempting to avoid the heat box I craft in during the hot summer weather today is the first time I have managed to find some time to blog. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year, Sydney is already on countdown for the big fireworks display, people already staking out their vantage points. Christmas Day down under was a hot day very much like Santa in the scene on the two cards below and there is no apparent end to the hot summers days we are having which are unusually hot for our area.

I have been making some changes to my blog in the wake of Google+ closing down in the next few months and as that was the only comment system available when I started my blog, in a simple click to swap to the now available blogger commenting system all previous comments have vanished, never to be seen again.

Two final Christmas cards which went to my city physio and local acupuncturist, this was my bank tellers favourite card last year and she has spent all of this year trying to find the red rubber version of the Aussie Santa from Make It Crafty which she found in November at a craft show.

Here are my cards:-

What I used:-
White 12.6.17.8cm card blanks
Cloud papers from 6" paper pads
Distress Oxide ink background (Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans)
Kaisercraft sand and boardwalk paper

Beccy's Place Sentiment stamp (Aussie Christmas)

K is for Kangaroo

Hello again,

Are you all getting tired of seeing Christmas cards from me yet? I've had a few days off and will have to play catch up so today I have a pair of cards that I made using a similar design from last year. I stamped the Kangaroo from Aussie Christmas by Beccy’s Place onto a A4 sheet and heat embossed them in black, both were coloured using Prismacolor watercolour pencils, painted in with water and then fussy cut out then added to my torn paper background made to look a little like the Aussie Outback, I added the windmill die cut and stamped the sentiment from Beccy’s set heat embossed in silver.

Here are my two cards:-

What I used:-

2 x white card blanks 12.6x17.8cm (5x7”)

White core cardstock (DCWV)

Ultimate Crafts Windmill die
Kaisercraft Basecoat corrugated tin paper

White cardstock for stamping

White cardstock to adhere background to

Black and silver embossing powder

Clear embossing ink

Double sided tape, foam tape
