Angelic Wishes

Hello again,

Well have you ever had one of those I must clean up moments, only to get part way through and get distracted? I have been trying to clear some of my mounding craft supplies and get them back to where they belong or in some cases put away for the first time. What has been my distraction? More lovely dies arriving every few days as I made an order for some Cheap China Dies- CCD (a term I first came across with Shaz in Oz of Calligraphy Cards, courtesy of RosA at Paperchase) and they have started arriving and needed a place to live, as they came I tried them through my machine and left feedback for each piece (required) which only added to the mess I was trying to get through.
I decided to keep my CCD separate to my other dies and have been making mini magnetic folders for some of the nesting sets using advertising magnets and plain Manila folders, the nesting sets are residing in an old VHS box and I’m wishing I hadn’t torn the plastic cover from the boxes so I could poke a list of what is in each box clearly down the spine or on the front of the box.
Here is a picture of the doily die which is behind my image:

I have made a Christmas card for this years stash using a Tiddly Inks digi image called ‘Angelic Wishes’. Still on my plan to use some of my vintage-y papers I coloured the image to suit.

Fairy Merry Christmas

Hello again,

Well Christmas is just one week away and I'm finishing off my cards, I got busy colouring in this one and then realised that I really didn't need any more Christmas cards, so this became the tag on my sister-in-law's gift, but is large enough to cover a card front (well it was going to be card). Which was posted to them in time for Christmas only to have my niece announce two days later that she was getting two Christmases this year one at the beach and one with us a week later!! My brother plans to pack our posted gifts in the car and drive them back (a mere 13+ hour drive) he will arrive before my niece.

As this is a Tiddly ink image I have decided to link it up over there, even though I used completely different colours than, traditional reds, greens and golds requested. Please feel free to delete if unacceptable...

Here’s my Card:-

What I used:-
White card
Faber-Castell and Derwent Pencils
Fairy Krystal Glitter paint
Lifestyle Crafts nesting rectangles

Black ink (Memento Tuxedo Black)
Kaisercraft 'Home for Christmas' clear stamp

Gift Bag

Hello again,

Well this month there are quite a few of the Christmas challenges encouraging us to spread some glittery cheer around, does it count when I drop some glitter on the Physio’s carpet, after a two and a half hour train trip to get there? I think it must have come out of my shoe ;-))

I used three separate images from Tiddly Inks Digi store Winter Wryn, puppy love and a gift pile from Williow the Christmas Fairy and merged them together to create a Christmas scene, as this was planned to be for a gift bag the images are quite a bit larger than usual and I was able to add my sentiment into a text box directly under the images.

I have had some trouble getting the design papers to stick to the yellow glitter card and I may have to adjust the bag and add more brads to help hold the whole thing together, PVA just doesn't seem to hold well enough, maybe the second coat will have helped.

Here’s a close up of the gift bag:-

and the whole gift bag, I picked up 10 gift bags in various colours from Riot art while they were having a 50% off Sale, I also picked up some plain white and kraft bags at the same time!!

What I used:-
Tiddly Ink Digi stamps gifts, puppy love and Winter Wryn
Faber-Castell & Derwent Pencils
White card
Gift bag (Riot Art for those in Australia)
Ribbon from Stash
Yellow glittered cardstock
8mm coloured brads
Glittered large Self-adhesive rhinestones
Doodlebug Design bracket (generic Christmas pack)
Doodlebug Design ‘Santa Express’ paper pad
Lifestyle Nesting Rectangle Dies

Adhesives: - PVA glue & double-sided tape

Case-ing Ourselves

Hello again,

Well this fortnight over at Case-ing Christmas challenge they have been celebrating Christmas in July with a fabulous blog hop featuring some gorgeous cards made with stamps in both real and digital form from a very kind group of sponsors.

The challenge this time is to case ourselves using a card we have made for another occasion, not Christmas, which I have a limited supply. I eventually decided on this card which was made for a lovely friend whom we met whilst doing our family history, her other hobby is quilt making hence the stitchy make. I have stuck with the layout of the card altering use of washi tape, egg braid and buttons to two ribbons (I rescued the sparkly red one from a present last year) and as none of the buttons in my stash are quite so small I switched them for some star sequins. I recreated the style of the sentiment on my computer, the original Happy Birthday one came from Scrap-al-icious-times. The bingo card is from Sweetly scrapped art.

Several blog challenges are also celebrating Christmas in July this week and today's Bugaboo Stamp challenge is a recipe challenge:

Three embellishments: Star sequins
Two Designer papers: Musical Script, Striped paper, also third which can barely be seen behind the image
Ribbon: two ribbons- red and green

Here’s my Christmas version of my Case card

What I used:-
White card blank 12.7cm x 17.8cm (5”x7”)
Faber-Castell and Derwent Pencils
Digital sentiment created on Word
Tiddly Inks Paper pack from Australian Simply Card magazine 2013
Musical note paper from Papercraft Inspirations magazine
Ribbons from stash
Star Sequins from stash
Kraft card scrap
White card
Paper scraps to create poinsettias
MFT-Stitched Circle die
Lifestyle Crafts/ QuicKutz nesting scallop circle die
Marrianne Creatables –Poinsettia with veins
Adhesives- Helmars Tacky craft glue & double-sided tape

Santa is Near...

Hello again…

Well I had a very Happy surprise when I turned on my PC today, discovering that I was chosen as Santa Supreme from Case-ing Christmas’s 13th Challenge. Thank you ladies for being so very kind.

Okay its not very often that you hear non-card makers talk about Christmas at this time of the year, but this morning when heading out I caught the bus to do some shopping and when boarding the driver had to write the date on the other passengers ticket, he commented “Look it’s nearly Christmas again” I had to smile, as I had left my card at home drying…

This week at Case-ing Christmas Rocky made this gorgeous card with an embossed ornament front and centre, as you can see her colour scheme is red and white, and this is what I took my inspiration from.

Here’s my take on Rocky’s card

Baa, ram, ewe

Hello again,

Happy Easter to one and all

I have made another Christmas card in between making two wedding cards, which I will post after the big event, this week I have combined a couple of challenges, Jingle Belles are in the mood for some Christmas Songs, Holly Jolly Christmas Crew would like us to ‘Feature a Creature’, Crafty Hazelnut Christmas would like to see some cute and cuddly,  and as always I am up for using up my piles of scraps.

I have used a Spellbinders embossing folder to create the musical background for my card, using white cored card pack from DCWV and distressing the embossing with sand paper, the design paper is from my scrap bags, some mulberry paper flowers, I coloured the digi stamp with Derwent pencils and the digi was from Tiddly Inks last year.
By the way you should hear this sung by 3-6 year olds!

Tiddly Ink

Hello again...

Here's a not so little card I have made for two of the current Christmas Challenge blogs, Crimbo Crackers requests no patterned paper and over at Christmas Card Challenges this week is Anything goes.

My card  is a 5x7" white card blank which I picked up at craft online as a set of 50, kraft paper, printed sentiment from Pink Petticoat, a strip of washi tape and a Tiddly inks digi stamp 'Christmas Pixie' I also have this as a clear stamp from a magazine but alas it has never seen ink as I never seem to get a complete image, but I am getting better.
