Wildflower Doodles- LPoCF #60

Hello again,

Today brings us to another brand new challenge over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends and as always the challenge is Anything goes, so come along and join in with whatever you have been working on, we have one lovely sponsors this fortnight Miss Daisy stamps offering a prize to one lucky winner.

Prize 4 images of choice one from each of the following artists
Jennifer Nilsson Art * Mari Digis * Miss Daisy’s Collection * We Are 3

I am using an image from Miss Daisy Stamps called Wildflower Doodles 1, I had an idea in mind for this card and I have managed to pull it off. I have used an inky background created with Dylusions Spray inks Cherry Pie and Lemon Zest, I have also sprayed some Lindys Stamp Gang Pearlescent white ink over the top of the others once they had dried.
I printed the image onto plain paper and then taped down my papers I wanted to use for the various layers reprinting onto the coloured and patterned papers, in the mood for some fussy cutting I used fine tipped scissors to carefully cut the image out from the various papers and glued them straight onto the image printed on to the spray ink background, I was very careful not to drop, sneeze or breathe the tiny pieces :-)
Not satisfied with the finished product, I used an embossing pen to add some shine to the flower centres and the butterfly, heat embossing in some clear powder, stamping and adding more clear powder to the sentiment.
Don’t forget to stop by my team mates blogs to check out some more inspirational projects and leave them some love!

Here is my card:-

Stella Fireman Call #2

Hello again,

Today we awoke to sad news again, thinking of all those who lost their lives and loved ones in London overnight.

A couple of weeks ago I made this card for my DT post for Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, well as my Mum requested two more cards for her kindy friends (they started school together some 50 years ago!) There are even plans afoot to attend a School gathering sometime during the year.

I have used two nesting die sets to cut and frame Stella, however they were a little to wide for my liking and I was able to pattern match and create a narrower frame by sliding one side across by one scallop and lopping the side off, only having a small clipping from one of the other scallops which I can no-longer see.

Here is the second card:-

What I used:-

White C7 card blank 12.7x17.8
White card for printing
AC cardstock Amethyst and cascade
Patterned papers from ‘Jewel’ Sugar and Spice Studios (Spotlight for those in Aus)
Tiny bling from my stash
Purple brads from stash
Couture Creations nesting rectangle and scalloped rectangle dies
MFT Stamps Essential Sentiments
W Plus 9 Scalloped border die
Black embossing powder
Clear Embossing inkpad
Anti-Static bag
Diamond glaze added to flames and Stella’s glasses
Adhesives:- Double-sided tape and foam tape

Snippets Playground GD

Hello again,

I was a lucky winner of a prize from Miss Di, Principal of Snippets Playground in the last couple of weeks and had a lovely email from Di asking if I would like to be a guest designer for the challenge this week. Thank you Di for the invitation and having me as the guest designer.

When I first started making paper based cards I had a lot of Scrap papers, given to me as a gift and looking around the web I came across Snippet's Playground full with ideas on how to use them to create beautiful cards, a super fun atmosphere and some of the mischievous comments from the girls in the playground kept me coming back for the cards and the giggles, I eventually began my own blog to keep me busy while I've been unable to work, finally plucking up the courage to join the ladies at Snippets Playground in October 2015.

I had been working on using some of the dies I had ordered from China and trying to clear off some of the snippety bits of paper consuming my desk. These two cards are going to be part of a gift for a friend who left the area unexpectedly, she used to buy cards from me quite regularly and said that she would miss my specially made designs.

These two cards started off as one 30x 10cm, I had a plan in mind for the thank you card and made this first, I cut the patterned paper into 2.5cm strips and layered them on to some brown card my neighbour gave me, then die cut the thank you die from white pearlescent card from my scrap box with some adhesive sheet attached, tracing around the outside of the die to get the narrow border around the outside, adding the butterfly die cut from another snippet of handmade yellow paper, before giving the butterfly a coat of clear Wink of Stella.

I then had the rectangle leftover and did not want to add this back to my stash, digging in to my scrap box again I found a peachy coloured paper that seemed to go well with the colours in the paper, some gold mirri card and the border strip from the spine of same paper pad, I cut the narrow stitched border from the gold card and used the strip from the spine  to cover the edges, ribbon didn't work on this one, using a scrap from the thank you card cut the other butterfly before stamping and sticking the butterfly down just the middle, finishing off with some stickles and liquid enamel.

What I used:-
White Card blanks 10.5 x 14.7cm
Scrap paper from Amy Tangerine paper pad 'Ready Set Go' and a print from the spine… I know who saves those???
Gold metallic card and yellow handmade paper from scrap box
Blue card stock
MFT Stitched scalloped border die
Peach, Pearl white and Brown card from scrap box
Birthday Sentiment from magazine freebie
White Liquid enamel
Sugar sprinkles glitter glue
Memento Tuxedo blank ink pad
Clear Wink of Stella
Adhesives:- Double sided tape and PVA glue

I'm off to do some more research on a new to me technique, called bargello  and it's another wonderful way to use up some scraps!
