Birthday Wishes

Hello again,

Well I'm back with my second floral card in as many weeks, this one was for my Mum's birthday last week and it turned out better than I expected... as I am only just beginning to use stamps, they still scare me a little... one annoying thing... the tiny flower had no corresponding die so they were all hand cut, no Springtime hayfever out bursts please!

The peach and pear trees are in blossom, the flowering Cherry trees, the cherry and apple trees are still holding out on us, maybe they think better than to flower early as we are expecting snow later this week, of course on the day I have an appointment in the city, I hope it will not be heavy enough to close the roads, have to get across them to get to the train.

Here is my card:-

Riding along on on my push bike

Hello again,

Well as promised I am showing you some of the cards I made for birthdays, all male for my neighbours sons, Uncle and Dad who all have had their birthdays in the last few weeks. I had to hold off as my recent participation in the Christmas in July celebration with Bugaboo sent my internet usage to the peak of my data limits, which have reset over the weekend…

This card was made for the youngest of my neighbours two sons, who turned 15 this year, he is currently doing his Duke of Edinburgh Award spending time doing various outdoor adventures with his mates, he also has been testing out his new camping gear in their backyard, we have had -4c and yes he was sleeping outside in it BRRRR! As part of his outdoor work with the award he has been riding and getting ready to ride in a Charity race with one of his uncles which gave me easier inspiration to work with for his birthday card. I came across this card on Pinterest from Patterned Paper Crafts and saved it for later as you do, checking it out and making my own copy, which is likely to be replicated for my Uncle next year as he spends a huge amount of time on his bike also for charity rides, sometimes the rides are from Brisbane to Sydney a distance of 955km or up to 1000km (593-621miles) dependant upon the route taken and done in around 180km sections.

I elongated the pierced fishtail flags by choosing a point to cut them off where it would be hidden behind the panel and then lining the second piece back up

Here is my card:-

Stella Fireman Call #2

Hello again,

Today we awoke to sad news again, thinking of all those who lost their lives and loved ones in London overnight.

A couple of weeks ago I made this card for my DT post for Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, well as my Mum requested two more cards for her kindy friends (they started school together some 50 years ago!) There are even plans afoot to attend a School gathering sometime during the year.

I have used two nesting die sets to cut and frame Stella, however they were a little to wide for my liking and I was able to pattern match and create a narrower frame by sliding one side across by one scallop and lopping the side off, only having a small clipping from one of the other scallops which I can no-longer see.

Here is the second card:-

What I used:-

White C7 card blank 12.7x17.8
White card for printing
AC cardstock Amethyst and cascade
Patterned papers from ‘Jewel’ Sugar and Spice Studios (Spotlight for those in Aus)
Tiny bling from my stash
Purple brads from stash
Couture Creations nesting rectangle and scalloped rectangle dies
MFT Stamps Essential Sentiments
W Plus 9 Scalloped border die
Black embossing powder
Clear Embossing inkpad
Anti-Static bag
Diamond glaze added to flames and Stella’s glasses
Adhesives:- Double-sided tape and foam tape
