This week I have used an image from our Sponsor Sparkle and Sprinkle, called Puddles Digital Stamp Set to create a page in my bullet journal. I have used a pre made spray ink background using Dylusions in cut grass and lemon zest, I inked through a Memory Box stencil (Zippy Dots) using canary, lime and green colorbox ink pads, used some bubble wrap from the bottom of a tray of strawberries to stamp some white spots and used my darkroom door sample numeral stamp to add more interest in London fog ink. I printed out and fussy cut the image out and one of the sentiments which I snipped into single words and glued on to the page and doodled around.

This challenge is open until the 5th of March and you can join in using the linky tool over at Crafting by Designs

Here is the journal page:-

Way of life

Hello again,

Blog post mark 2, not sure what happened but my screen flashed and it was gone. Is it any wonder I frequently opt to type up blog posts in a document and copy and paste it over? Joy from Joyfully Stamps is starting an art journal and is planning on sharing hers, I thought I might join her sharing mine.

I started a bullet style journal specifically to track my sleep or lack there of, my physio exercises and my design team work so I don't forget to get things done on time. I will not bore you with the rather bland sleep tracking, exercise etc pages but after deciding that it looked rather boring I am planning on using my journal for creative pages as well, using stamps, dies, techniques etc. that I want to try out  in my journal, some not so successfully done others I have been having fun doing. I am using an A5 art journal for my base and adding in other pages as the mood takes me.

This page is using up two spray ink backgrounds I have used elsewhere and these bits were taking up space on my desktop, a stamped sentiment from Darkroom Door, punched (yes I still have many of my punches and occasionally still use them) shapes and a little black ink doodling. The spray ink backgrounds have been torn along the edge of my steel ruler and have rough edges.

Journal page

What I used:-
scrap paper cut to just smaller than the journal page
spray ink background (dylusions spray inks)
darkroom door sentiment
scrap black card and text paper
clear embossing ink
white embossing powder
star and circle punches
black fine line pen

Inspired by a Movie

Hello again,

Today brings us to a new Challenge for Crafting by Designs, we would love you to join in our challenge and this week the challenge is inspired by a film, we have one fabulous sponsor this week Ike’s Art will be giving the lucky winner a $20 gift certificate for their store.

PRIZE $20 gift certificate

I have used a digi called Japanese lady (pre coloured) from Ike’s store inspired by the film Memoirs of a Geisha, I had a simple card in mind to add to the requested card order for a friend who has a Japanese daughter in law, so she likes cards using Japanese papers which I have a few of in my stash after my Aunt went to Japan on holiday and brought me a little present back. I printed the image and fussy cut it out layering it over a stitched circle frame and adding a plain red circle cut from plain Japanese paper from the same pack, now it is finished it reminds me of the Japanese flag, not intended but it works. I added a sentiment in black ink from Close to my Heart to the red centre.

This challenge is open until February 26th, you can add your project by using the Linky tool over at Crafting by Designs. Please be sure to link your project back to us.
Here is my card:-

White card for printing
Scrap white card

French Language and a Bike

Hello again,

This is one of the cards I have been making for a friend, I was asked if I could possibly make a card for one of her sons and include French language and a bike, not knowing one word in French I used google translate to write Happy Birthday in English and translate it, I then used a fancy font called KG A Little Swag downloaded from Dafont, I should have made them all either upper or lower case but a bit late now and only the first letter has been capitalised. I added the sentiment to the card covered in some brick paper to act as bunting…. I suppose I could also have altered the shape of the sentiment to give a little more interest…

Here is my card:-
What I used:-
White 10.5x14.8cm card blank
Marianne Design die- Bicycle
Brick paper from BigW mixed pad (Textured Paper pack)
Scraps, red, black and white cardstock
Silver border sticker coloured with a blue sharpie
Adhesives:- Double sided adhesive sheet, double sided tape, glue pen
Thank you for looking in...
Have a wonderful week...

Old fashioned lady

Hello again,

Today I am sharing one of the four birthday cards I made for my friend who ordered a mixed bunch from me, I have used a silhouette die and made a vintage card, with the unfortunate error of having just above the sentiment the words toilet basins on the old patterned paper I have used, I’m sure it just adds some interest that you can read in old ads. I have been free to make what I want to with one exception, a specific request to make a card with the French language and a bike on it... the bike is easy, French not so, all I have come up with is using google translate to say happy birthday in French...
Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 10.5x14.8cm card blank
Kaisercraft Timeless patterned paper
CCD Lady with umbrella die
Oval die
Scrap of black, gold and sandstone paper/card
Paper lace
White Liquid Pearls
Marianne Designs Butterfly punch die
Darkroom Door Sentiment stamp Simple sayings Vol.1
Clear embossing ink
