Layered Sentiment

Hello again,

I’m back to share another distress oxide card made for my sister-in-law who had her birthday during the week, like me her favourite colour is purple so I used Picked raspberry, Wilted Violet and Peacock feathers inks to create the background, rubbing more ink on here and there and splashing water on it between drying it out with my heat gun. I stamped the three flowers from a set of clear stamps from China onto the card in clear ink adding black embossing powder. I tried to colour the flowers a little darker than the background using some more ink and a paint brush, it didn’t really turn out how I had wanted it to but it still looked okay.
The sentiment was die cut from the main background piece and I then layered it up three times in white cardstock adding the tiny pieces back into the sentiment where they belonged, I only lost one which I cut out of a scrap with similar colours, so the piece blends in… not bad for a first try of this technique.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-

White card blank 12.5x14.6cm card blank (fold on short side)

White cardstock

All is Bright

Hello again,

Two posts in one afternoon, whatever next....

I decided to have a tidy up while we had to move furniture around and back after having the windows replaced and discovered several NBUS stamps, dies and other bits and pieces lost in the mess I call my craft space. A friend is having a birthday soon and I like to make and send some of my cards as a gift, several design team makes will be amongst the set this year and these three Christmas cards using up some of my scrappy bits and pieces will added too. Now I can't find where I moved some items too.....

I found Impression Obsession Manger set still in the envelope they arrived in… un opened and unused, using white card scraps and double sided adhesive sheets I diecut the scene out and used a stitched square die to make a simple focal point on the card (and so I could use the larger sentiment stamp) I heat embossed the sentiment directly onto the card blank and measured and drew on lines 3mm from each edge to finish the card with a gold/silver pen to co-ordinate with the colours of the card.
I must admit that these cards were inspired by Shaz in Oz from Calligraphy Cards I don't seem to do CAS cards easily but these turned out super

Here are my cards:-

What I used:-

White 10.5x14.8cm card blanks

Impression Obsession Diesets DIE355-M

White and silver glitter card scraps

Distress oxide background (wilted violet +
Spray ink background
Silver and Gold super fine embossing powder

Clear embossing ink
Close to my Heart All is Bright Holiday stamp

Gold, black and Silver gel ink pens

Adhesives:- Double sided tape, Adhesive sheet

CBD Ruby Sweet

Hello again,

Today brings us to a new Challenge for Crafting by Designs, we would love you to join in our Month long Anything goes challenge, we have four fabulous sponsors this month

PRIZE 3 digi stamps of winners choice

PRIZE 3 digi stamps of Winners choice

Prize $12 Voucher

Prize $25 gift certificate

I have used a pretty image from our sponsor Polkadoodles called Ruby Sweet, I went a little on the elegant side for this card, used a scrap of wood grain paper to create a floor, an ancient border sticker with a glittery finish to it and some black design paper from my stash which reminds me of wallpaper. I added a label die cut from a magazine embossed with gold powder surround and sentiment before adding Ruby to the card front popped up on foam pads.

This challenge is open until September 4th, you can add your project by using the Linky tool over at Crafting by Designs. Please be sure to link your project back to us.

Here is my card:-

My apologies for not being around much of late, we have had to have 10 windows replaced after the spline started to drop out, not ideal in the middle of winter but at least we had sunny days while it was all happening, I have been hiding inside away from my usual craft space while the work was carried out, hiding also from the necessary cleanup and clear out...  I did however get some colouring done for some Christmas cards I think I have about 16 images coloured ready to go, just need to sit down and get going on them. I found some NBUS items still in the envelopes they arrived in, and I have already used two sets to make three Christmas cards.... All of this was then followed up by a major upgrade to the NBN (internet) out the front of our place which has seen the phone and internet come and go for the last 12 days, we got all excited when it came back on for two days (one of them when the windows were out) and cancelled the tech that was due to come out, got up the next morning and it was gone again… I have managed to keep up with my DT commitments on my phone and have my fingers crossed that the techs will have fixed everything by the time I am due to make this post live… then I can get around to visiting you all again

What I used:-

White card for printing
Faber-Castell and Derwent pencils
Magazine Freebie Stamp, sentiment and die combo (Lavish Label Layers)
Scrap papers woodgrain, pink and black scrap to create scene and piece dress
White scrap for the label
Stampendous Detail gold embossing powder
Wink of Stella
Border sticker
Fiskars corner rounder punch
Adhesives: Double-sided tape & Foam tape
