Stockings were hung...

Hello again...

Thank you to all of the wonderful ladies over at Case-ing Christmas who last week selected my entry in Case-ing Christmas #6 as 'Santa Supreme'!
I was very surprised to see my own card come up on the blog feed. I may have been making cards for many years having first made cross-stitched designs which I learnt to mount, then diversifying into varying boxes to place handmade beaded decorations (I'll include a picture of some once the tail end of the two cyclones blows over--very glad not to live in Qld- I'd rather a bit of rain than the whole shebang) then most recently discovering digi stamps combined with die-cuts, I have never really thought that my cards were anywhere near as nice as the many I see on-line, so Thank you from the bottom of my heart, my recent win has truly made my day.

Okay enough rambling, on to this week's card Case #8

This week the lovely Cohenna created the card below for us to case:

I love the subtle texture and who doesn't love a good Christmas Stocking, and some bling

Here's my take on Cohenna's card

I have of course gone with the stocking, and basic layout of Cohenna's card, I have used Kaisercraft 6" paper pad called Christmas Collections which was free with a magazine to create the stocking and the die-cut leafy sprig (Memory Box), I have added some tiny pearls to the greenery and a bow also from a magazine, the sentiment is again from Pink Petticoats tiny Christmas sentiment  set, the background paper is from a second Kaisercraft set which I picked up extra cheap after the end of Christmas sales- 'Yuletide' which I embossed with a Darice holly vine folder and carefully inked the raised sections and then around the outside of the sentiment strip, String from Hemptique -I added knots can you see them?

I am entering this card into two challenges

* 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown- Sequins and Pearls

Non-Traditional

Hello again...

Today I am sharing with you a card and pillow box set which I made, using up some of my larger scraps and some more magazine cover kit paper.

I lightly traced the pillow box shape from a template onto the reverse of the 8" square magazine kit paper then used a bone folder and scoring board to make the straight folds then free hand scored the curved edges for the box ends, using a circle punch to cut opening on each end the box .

For the pillow box I used
* Magazine kit paper
* Scrap of Pearlescent Pink Corrugated card
* Silver scrap paper
* Memory box Leaping deer die
* Lifestyle Crafts Circle Nesting doily die
* Rhinestones and Twine from my stash

I decided to use up the Corrugated scrap leftover from die cutting the reindeer for the pillow box and I have mounted it on to another piece of the magazine cover kit and inlaid it with some silver glitter paper.
I finished the card off with a sentiment strip from Pink Petticoat which was die cut using MFT Pierced fish tail flags, a pink and white poinsettia cut from more scraps of paper (Marrianne Creatables- Poinsettia with veins Die) and my ever favourite MFT-Small Fancy flourish.

Case-ing Christmas #7

Hello again...

I am going to try to participate in all of the Case-ing Christmas Challenges this year, so here is my latest Card for the current Case-ing Christmas Challenge

This week Donna made this beautiful card for us to Case

Here is my take on Donna's card

I have centred my word art from TLC Creations (a freebie no longer available) and layered  it on some of my recent re-discovered metallic silver paper, with some coordinating  turquoise card, the paper with glitter outlines is from my stash of scraps, then adding it to a black fronted card blank, I added four black rhinestones from my stash to finish off my card.

I think if the scrap of paper I have used had been larger this design would make a great wine bottle tag... never mind next time

have a good one

Angel Card

Hello again...

Today I created another Christmas Card- I have been slowly working my way through some digi stamps I coloured during January- I printed 6 digi stamps from a variety of  Digi companies onto an A4 sheet and coloured them while watching TV.

I covered a 5x7 inch card blank with some lovely Metallic Silver paper which has been hiding away in storage for many years, I used two DCWV designer papers one as the background which has some glitter spots the other is the narrow strip with ornaments on it- this paper has also been in storage for ages, I used a doily which came free with a magazine although I used the plain white back. I dies used MFT small flourish die, MFT pierced fish-tails and Marianne designs snowflake, the sentiment is from Pink Petticoat, Ribbon, lace and rhinestone from my stash.

I found this lovely Angel digital stamp quite by accident, I was looking for downloads for an Australian Magazine of the same name and came across one from the UK. Paper Craft Essentials I frequently return now to have a poke around and have discovered some more lovely digi stamps and templates.

I am entering this card in three Challenges
1- Holly Jolly Christmas- Angels and Fairies
2- Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge -215 Decorate a corner
3- Christmas Stamping All Year Long- Any thing goes

After a lovely suggestion from Hazel I am now entering this card into

Inlaid

Hello again...

Today I have just one card which was made for the Case-ing Christmas Challenge, this week Ellen created a lovely card which she inlaid her sentiment and that was what inspired me to create my card.

I have used my large Christmas sentiment die (Memory Box) and I have made a DL card. I drew and cut the holly leaves and added veins and some sequins, I finished my card off with a Christmas tree die-cut from a Sizzix/Hero Arts Framelits set with some tiny bling.

Case-ing Christmas Challenge #5

Well here I am again, I have created a second card for the latest Challenge over at Case-ing Christmas here is a picture of Mynn's card

I took my inspiration from the colours of Mynn's card.

Well thanks for looking in...
Megan

Thank you

Hi, I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all of the ladies who have left comments on my cards since I have started sharing my designs, they are appreciated.

Jingle Belles

Well I have been playing around with some more of Bugaboo's Digi images and some of my paper and card scraps of which I have way to many.

I have made my first shaped card, I have used up scraps to create random shaped gift tags before but never actually made a full card in any shape other than regular squares or rectangles.

The Jingle Belles post:
Shape-Up for the New Year A common New Year's resolution is to get in shape ... so we're also going to Shape-Up at Jingle Belles by making cards that are shapes other than a square or rectangle.

Here is my card creation:
For my card I created a round card blank using mpress dies and Cuttlebug, I used a variety of dies and added some leftover star sequins to the tree. The sentiment stamp was free from my kind Newsagent... leftover from a cover kit freebie my digi is called  Christmas Kids Girl Three

I have recently found another challenge to enter this card into Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper here dedicated to using up our hordes of patterned papers.

I also made a few gift tags, using up some card and paper scraps and  MFT ornament dies. The owls are again a couple of the many I made during a clean up of my small scraps.
