Twofer Birds

Hi All,

I have been following along with the twofer challenge, but have never before joined in with the ladies, I had been making a mixed set of cards for a friend and had finished them all off and I need a thank you card to post out this week... so with the die set still on the table I decided to join in...

The set is a CCD which came with the two birds, cages and a stand, I have used scissors to cut into the lantern shaped cage to make it look like the birds are out and about.

What I used:-
Two 14.8c10.5cm card blanks
Silver paper
Japanese paper
Dark grey metallic card
Silver peel off stickers
CCD Bird Cage, Birds dies
Label Shaped die (not sure)
Pink gel ink pen
Close to my Heart Happy Birthday Sentiment stamp
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Kraft card
Kaisercraft 'Blue Bay' paper pack (mostly snippets)
Kaisercraft 'Blue Bay' sentiment sticker
Darkroom Door 'Simple Sayings'
Clear embossing ink
Black super fine embossing powder
Adhesives:- Double sided tape, adhesive sheet, 2 way glue pen and foam dots

I would like to enter this card in:-
Twofer Challenge January Birds
Snippets Playground #344
Southern Girls Challenge Anything goes
Crafty Creations Challenge #382 Anything goes

Thank you for looking in...
Hope you all have a wonderful week...
Megan

PS. Stay cool in all this extreme summer heat we are having down under.
Many thanks for all the kind comments, I have tried adjusting the settings as some are unable to comment unless it opens in a new window...

Hi Megan - your cards are so sweet - what a wonderful pair to enter the challenge with for the first time.
We are apparently going to get the tail end of your head later in the week...
Blessings

Your twofer cards are just great. I love those bird cages and how you opened it up so the birds could fly out. The papers you chose are so beautiful.

These are such sweet, delicate images, Megan ... so pretty against the cherry blossom and flourishy green PPs ... and what a lovely sense of movement about that bird in flight, hovering by the cages! Happy to have you playing along with us at Twofer after following us for some time ... do come back again! Anita :)

Welcome to Twofer, Megan! You've made two feminine bird cards with lovely patterned paper for wallpaper! It's nice the birds are trained to be free! They look very happy and at home in their pretty surroundings! I hope your weather cools off for you soon! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #12! Hugs, Darnell

Your birds and cages are adorable, Megan! I love how the birds are free to fly around :) The grey and silver is beautiful among the cherry blossoms, and those two little friends look so happy in a flourish of greens. Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

Brilliant cards Megan.. a clever use of those CCD! Love the idea of cutting bits out so they could fly around.
Cooler here today.. we are pretty blessed on coast, it's not as bad as some. It's even looking like it might rain which would be a wonderful blessing, as its a month since we've had any!
Hugs Shaz in Oz. X

Hi Megan. Love you little birds and also the background paper super.
We were covered in smoke this morning and although it has cleared from this side of the river I can't see the city. The fires were caused by the dry thunder storm and all so hard to get to. Just trying to keep cool.

Great cards Megan - and such a clever re-use of the same die as well. One bold and one very soft and gentle. Love them!

Hugs

Di xx

These are both quite pretty. I especially like your Japanese style floral paper. The bird cages and birds are very cute. Nice idea to cut a little opening on one. Thanks for changing your comment settings. I am happy to be able to comment again!
