Surf, Sand & Summer

Hello again...

Well in my recent wanderings around blogland I discovered another Christmas card blog named ‘tis the season’ and this week they had a photo inspiration of a beach with some ornaments.

I decided to participate in this challenge as Christmas falls in our summer time.

Tiddly Ink

Hello again...

Here's a not so little card I have made for two of the current Christmas Challenge blogs, Crimbo Crackers requests no patterned paper and over at Christmas Card Challenges this week is Anything goes.

My card  is a 5x7" white card blank which I picked up at craft online as a set of 50, kraft paper, printed sentiment from Pink Petticoat, a strip of washi tape and a Tiddly inks digi stamp 'Christmas Pixie' I also have this as a clear stamp from a magazine but alas it has never seen ink as I never seem to get a complete image, but I am getting better.

Scrap therapy????

Well this afternoon I decided that my ever growing pile of off cuts could use some re-arranging again. I have divided them into colour groups and placed them into clear plastic bags. I still have one container to sort through, but as usual I eventually ended up side tracked and decided to use up some orange card scraps to make a Christmas gift tag. Why orange??? Well I coloured a Make it crafty image called Zippy purple and aqua. I then decided that the best colour to finish off his scarf was you guessed it orange.

So here is my latest Christmas tag.

What I used:
White card
Digi image 'Zippy'
Orange card
Scrap of MME-Happy days
Kaisercraft Chirstmas Stamp-Twig & Berry-Postmarks
Black ink
Coloured Pencils (Faber-Castell and Derwent)
Black fine-line pen
Orange ribbon
MFT Ornament dies

Second gift box...

Hello again...

Well I decided to play along with the lovely ladies over at Christmas Stampin' all year long and this week the challenge was 'Anything but a card' and I have combined this challenge with Sparkles Forum Christmas Challenge 'Make it Green'.

I love these little boxes and a few years ago created a set which were gifts for my colleagues and contained a few chocolates and a hand beaded Christmas Spider. I printed and rolled up the legend of the Christmas Spider to go with it.

I downloaded a box template from fun stuff to do and printed it out directly on to A4 card. The digital stamp was a part of a Papercraft Inspirations set. The stamps were from Shirley Toogood who has since passed away. She was my favourite contributor to the magazine. If anyone is interested there are still some of the penguin digi's available on her blog found here but not the one I have used here.

For the photo I have closed the box with a mini bull-dog clip but will use a coordinating ribbon when the time comes to package a present up.

What I used:
A4 Green cardboard
Doodlebug Design paper
Large scalloped oval punch
Scalloped circle die (for sides)
Embossing folder-Spellbinders m-bossabilities Trendy Folder
Gold scrap paper from stash
Green Checked Washi
Mini Star punch
Scoring board
Green Ink
Pencils
Black fine-line pen
Marrianne Creatable 'Merry Christmas'

A Very Vibrant Christmas...

Hello again...

Two cards in one day! I am again joining in with the current Jingle Belles challenge and this fortnight they have given us a photo for inspiration which is below

I  had a moment when I first saw the image, but then I remembered that I had a DCWV stack of brightly coloured paper!

I was inspired by the colours that are shown in the photo and also the swirly design on the place-mats.

I have been wanting to use my first background die to create a Christmas Card although imagined slightly differently

Here is my take on the photo...

Unfortunately, my photo doesn't show up the teal all that well.

I mounted the MFT Sun-Ray die on to a purple card blank before inlaying pieces from a second set, the tree is a Marrianne Craftables-Christmas Tree and the star topper is from a second Marrianne Craftables set (angel with star) cut out on glitter paper as was the Memory Box- Medium flourish, I have again used a sentiment from Pink Petticoat cut out with MFT- Sentiment strips how I wished they had made them transparent so you could see where you are placing the text. Before finishing of with some sequins and adhesive rhinestones.

Bird Brain Christmas

Hello again...

This week I have another new Christmas card to share with you.

I have taken my inspiration from the layout of DaenY's wonderful card below

I have altered the central shape on my card and dry embossed the oval with a snowflake folder which I raised up on foam pads, I stuck to safe Christmas colours of green and red washi tape which I stuck first on my cutting mat and used a Stanley knife to make the curved edges. I have coloured the digi image with pencils and fussy cut it, coloured the three flat backed embellishments with Sharpie's  (the red one looks better than the green ones), I finished off with the sentiment which came with the image.

What I used: White card-stock and card blank, oval dies-Poppy-crafts, Darice snowflake embossing folder, Flat backed 'plastic domes for craft' (according to the packet), Sharpies, washi tape, Cuttlebug, Digi image Birdbrain the Chick-Christmas Spirit From the Heart Stamps

Challenges I am entering this card to:
Crimbo Crackers- Make me laugh
Merry Monday- Use Red and Green
