O Christmas Tags

Hello again,

Christmas is almost here, is everyone busy getting things organised or are you all sitting back relaxing with your favourite tipple? I’m still planning Christmas lunch; the elimination diet threw a spanner in the works, still trying the new recipes out getting used to different flavours.

I spent most of last week busy making the extra 10 cards I need and now I just have one more left for one of my neighbours. I used some of my earlier designs to create some of the cards including my little Scotty dog card using a different paper from the same pack. Using the same layout and a poinsettia die for a change which I layered up. I will post these in the next few days...

I also got my box of leftover diecuts, scrap papers etc. out and diecut many tags out of the larger scraps and plain Christmas shapes out of smaller ones to create this years gift tags. There are many more than you see below... should have some leftover for next Christmas!

I first joined in with the lovely ladies and Miss Di over at snippets playground last year with my Christmas gift tags, using leftover card to make these tags, which my local friendly newsagent passed on rather than tossing them in the bin.

Here are my tags:-

What I used:-
Lawn Fawn Tag die
Scrap paper/card in various colours
Penny Black Clear stamps holiday snippets
Leftover small images, Bugaboo Stamps, Di’s Digital Delights
Faber-Castell and Derwent pencils
Memory Box leaping reindeer die
Impression Obsession Small Reindeer
Marianne Design Punch Star die
Marianne Tree Die
Cottage Cutz Festive Owls die
Marianne Design Scotty Dog Die
Impression Obsession Holly leaf cluster die
Mama Elephant Reindeer games stamp and die set (leftover from previous project)
Kindy Glitz Red glitter glue
Noel Washi tape
Printed sentiments
Adhesives: Double sided tape, PVA glue
Memento Tuxedo black ink

My apologies for the photo quality but we have gone from a bright hot sunny summer night to a grey, wet, misty mountain day… the temperature has dropped over 10C over night, but we are expecting Christmas Day to be around 27C here…

I would like to enter these tags in:

Christmas wishlist...

Hello again,

Well after a full week of Holiday Chaos with the Design Team over at Catch the Bug would you believe I’m still short on Christmas cards??? Just as well I always colour extra images and have a few leftover. Today brings us to the final day of this years Holiday Chaos challenge and today the challenge is to create a card using a nine square bingo chart. I have used Bugaboo’s latest freebie, Crabby Cat Christmas.

Are you all ready for the big day yet? We’ve packed a box of presents to go to my brother, sister in law and niece my Dad will be driving some of my brothers possessions left in ‘storage’ at home along with most of the Christmas gifts for them, unfortunately a few gifts are still on their way we will have to post them once they arrive. As for the Christmas day lunch plans were made a while ago, before I met a new doctor, who has placed me on an elimination diet for the foreseeable future, thankfully I’m already used to some of the diet having intolerances to a third of the food eliminated… I have already requested Christmas post elimination diet…

Hedgie Christmas

Hello again,

I had my last session of physio for the year today in Sydney, no point taking my camera with me to show you anything exciting, except maybe the strange giant matchsticks we saw as the train whizzed by… here is a link to the Matchsticks a sculpture…..

On the way back to the station we stopped off at Westfield and I couldn't stop myself from going in to Riot art store, just for a look... I came out with a bead storage box, soon to house a myriad of sequins and tiny bits, and a set of 23 sentiment stamps which were 50% off making them just $3 and it included a thin stamp block...

On to todays card the challenge for day four was to make a card keeping it simple and using no design papers.
Here is my card:-

What I used:-
Bugaboo image
Faber-Castell and Derwent Pencils
White 12.6 x 17.8cm card blank (5x7”)
Lavender and Amethyst AC cardstock

Gift tag day 3

Hello again,

It is not often that I manage two posts in one day, so this afternoons post is about day three of the week of Christmas Chaos over at Bugaboo stamps blog, today’s challenge is to make a gift tag using red and white stripes. I bustled over to my box of scraps and dug out some red and white scrap paper, blue cardstock from a previous project and grabbed the pre-coloured digi that has been sitting on my desk for a few weeks. I traced around the outside of a Francheville Christmas tag pack to create the shape and rounded the edges.

Here is my gift tag:-

What I used:-
Pale blue cardstock
Red and white stripe paper
Hole punch (a little larger than I thought)
Scrap of ribbon
Stamp set from ASC issue 98
Memento tuxedo Black inkpad

A Scottie Christmas

Hello again,

Well it’s almost summer, the cherries are plentiful and ripening nicely, the birds have still managed to take a few from the tree despite our best efforts to protect all the summer fruits growing in the backyard. I’ll be glad when this heat wave is over, bring on the cool change!

I made a second card for my friend in today, I bought this lovely die from Marianne Designs a while ago and this is the first time I have used it. I had the die out ready to make a card several weeks ago and to my surprise Miss Di, from Pixie's Snippets Playground had made a card featuring a different little scotty here and another one here, my intention was to use some tartan or plaid papers and I put the die away until my new paper pack from Lawn Fawn turned up having been on back order.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 14.8x 10.5cm card blank
Lawn Fawn Christmas plaid paper pad
Snippets of gold and red mirri card, white and green card

Have yourself a Merry....

Hello again,

Today I managed to finished off three cards some of which have been sitting half done for a few days, I still haven’t finished unpacking my new stash from my expedition to the local craft show, but busted two stamps and a coordinating die to make my card.

I have to say I love the slightly cheeky sentiments from Art Impressions and I bought this new stamp set at the show, I have already had a request for 3 cards all pretty similar. I have made the second which I will share later once it has dried and possibly after my trip to the city again.  (read weekend or later)

I have also had a request for four Christmas cards two international post friendly and two local hand deliver cards, so expect to see a few more in the next couple of weeks…

This card like the two others will be headed for my Mum’s three friends from Kindergarten… amazingly this card is flat for postage! the little bit of foam tape will go through just fine

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 5 x 7” card blank
Art Impressions Cheers to you stamp
Faber Castell and Derwent Pencils
Lawn Fawn Christmas plaid paper
Red cardstock (AC tomato ??)
Scraps of white, glitter and red mirri card
MFT Single Stitched Oval frame
Hero Arts Merry Stamp and Cut
Derivan KindyGlitz Crystalina 3D Glittler glue (hey that’s why it dried all bumpy!) Who knew 😃 (and emoji's too!)

Star stickers from stash

Joy to the World

Carol Singers
Hello again,
I’m back to share a card that I just had to get out of me! I am loving some of the fantastic cards out there in blogland and Pintrest too, featuring silhouettes. I bought this set from impression obsession while one of my favourite online stores had a Christmas clear out earlier this year, they have been hanging out on my desk ever since waiting, waiting, waiting to be used…

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 5 x 7” card blank
Gold iridescent brown card
Kraft card
Home for Christmas papers
Gingham ribbon from local $2 shop
Scraps of white, black, glitter and gold papers
MFT Streetlight Die
Memory box Star of Wonder

Lifestyle Crafts nesting circle dies

12 Months of Christmas Link-up Bingo or Anything goes
Snippet's Playground 256 week Must use snippets

Before I go I thought I'd show you a picture of on of my garden visitors, this Blue Tongued lizard hung around for almost a week in almost the same spot, disappear for a while before returning, it was almost 30cm long and has lost his tail, which will grow back. We are lucky enough to see both the smooth skinned and shingle-backed blue tongued lizards, who apparently mate with the same partner for many years, that might just explain the chasing game I saw down the backyard!

Teen Christmas

Hello again,

I’m back with another Christmas card this one is off to my neighbour’s eldest son, to prevent any arguments over the cards as I made my second double ‘z’ fold card having made this one for his brother earlier this year, the card ended up being more plain than I had planned on account of me making multiple mistakes when cutting the gap at the back of the card to hold some cash. I thought after the first mistake (I cut a piece of paper with a pattern going across the page upright) I’d just trace and cut the hole onto the next piece, only this time I did it in mirror image ;-(( to rescue the paper I’d wrecked I picked a second and third piece from the same paper pad and used the first paper on the ‘z’ portion of the card.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 14cm Square card blank
Pale green cardstock
My Mind’s Eye Mistletoe Magic 6” pad (including the paper I cut the wrong way)
Kaisercraft nesting star die
Lifestyle crafts nesting circle die
Poppystamps Clarissa ornament
Poppystamps Avondale ornament
Sentiment Die from Australian Papercraft Essentials 45
Star paperclip
Silver and white card scraps
Silver and red bling
Bella Droplets

Red Red Wine...

Hello again,

What a week…. I headed to the first Papercraft show I’ve been to in several years even though I knew it would cause me to be in pain for a few days after over the weekend, then decided the next day that getting up and down on a dining chair to clean the fan/heater/light in bathroom with the vacuum was a good idea then I added cleaning the inside of the skylight and bathroom walls to it too… needless to say doing it all in one hit was a bad idea and I’ve been paying for it since. I’ve just started to unpack my goodies from the show today…

A couple of bonuses taking my Mum with me to the Papercraft show, I got to pick some of my own Christmas presents, Mum held onto my bag and sat down for a bit while I entered the busiest stall, I would love to go to their shop one day, but I think I would get into too much mischief and spend way too much...

Today I am sharing a birthday card made for one of my Mum’s friends from Kindergarten, who after losing touch for so many years have reconnected and now enjoy regular get togethers, lunches and long phone calls. They are lovely ladies and I grew up on stories about them and the mischief they would get up to… At Mum’s Request I made my third card featuring Bugaboo image called Glass of wine a day and coloured it as red wine, I had an idea in my head as to which papers I would use and it ended up being completely different.

Not sure what happened in the photo, all the bling are plain silver, the flourish in the corner seems a little yellow...

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 5 x 7” card blank folded to an easel base
Blue leather grained cardstock
Patterned paper from magazine A4 paper pack
Flowers from stash
MFT Cross Stitched rectangle die from Christina
Derwent Pencils
Clearly Besotted Sweet Little Sentiments
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink pad
Scrap of ribbon
Sullivan’s Bling Flourish

Kaisercraft Bling strip
Adhesives:-Double sided tape and glue dots

Wisemen

Hello again,

Another Christmas card two in one week! I have been admiring several silhouette Christmas cards on Pinterest lately and decided to make one using on of the Eureka images I won last year. I am trying to use some of the papers I was given called ‘Christmas Village’ from First Edition, I printed the image and one of the sentiments from Paulette over at TLC Creations who offers both free and bought word art for many occasions directly onto a piece of cardstock from the pad.

The paper from the First Edition pack has got the same faint pattern on the blue and yellow/gold coloured paper which is only slightly visible on the blue

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 5” x 7” card blank
Black cardstock
First Edition Paper ‘Christmas Village’
Scrap of black, gold paper and scrap from paper pad
Gold paper and mirri card
Eureka Digi stamp ‘Three Wise Men’
TLC Creations Christmas Wordart
MFT Framing Flourishes

Memory Box Star of Wonder

Thank you for looking in...
Have a fantastic weekend...
