Hello again,
Well Spring has arrived here in Australia, our fruit trees are beginning to flower, we have a Wattle Bird nesting in our back garden, they are collecting spiders from around the house to feed their brood on and our resident Blue tongue already spotted sunning itself out the front yard. We are still staying close to home with the current pandemic, avoiding travelling out of area where possible, NSW is seeing a few community transmissions each day and have so far avoided an outbreak like Victoria.
This week I have managed to make two cards, one for Dad for Father's Day (today) which I haven't had the chance to photograph and one for Mum's birthday later this week. I also have plans for a special Halloween card for a lady who loves to celebrate Halloween, but circumstances this year mean it won't be on...
I have used a Beccy's Place image called The Front Gate and used paper piecing for the wood and the nest/mailbox, gel ink pens in green, gold, silver with black for the Aussie Magpie with our closest pattern variation on their feathers and water colour pencils to create the background scenery.
Here is my card:-
What I used:-
14cm square card blank
Beccy's Place image The Front Gate
Gel ink pens- Gold, Green, black, Silver, Orange
Derwent Watercolour pencils
Kaisercraft Australiana paper pad
Kaisercraft Basecoat paper pad (scraps of woodgrain)
Kaisercraft Blue Bay paper pack (scrap weathered wood)
Lili of the Valley sentiment stamp
Olive Colorbox ink
Clear embossing powder
Circle and Stitched square dies
Enamel dots (Francheville)

Ah Megan, a trulystunning card with Beccy’s clever images, well done on paper piecing timber and metal mailbox too looks fab. Love the magpies too they stand out so well. A really great card.
Glad you’re keeping well, and glad we’ve the gig we have in NSW. Reason we’ve missed out on Vic incident level is because they’re really good at contact tracing in NSW dept. that is what is letting down Vic.
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these unusual times, a blessing to rest simply in Him! Praying you’re all kept well too!
Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x 😊

Where my husband works there are a pair of magpies. One has a damaged wing and cannot fly. We both find it heart warming that the other never goes far from it's side. It's lovely to think of them as a loving couple. Thanks for joining my challenge at Sparkles Monthly. Love Dawn x
Love the image and the background, they work well together.

Wowzers, this is awesome Megan! You've done a brilliant job with the paper piecing and colouring... I love that bright blue sky. The background paper coordinates beautifully with the image, great choice, and I like the little birthday medallion you added. Wonderful!
Cheers,
Beccy
