Scrap Thank you card

Hello again,

Today brings us to a new Challenge for Crafting by Designs, we would love you to join in our Pink plus one other colour challenge and show us what you are making, we have a lovely sponsor this week Ppinky Dolls will be giving the lucky winner 3 Images of choice.

PRIZE Three Images

I have used some pink with green to make a thank you card for my stash. I followed a tutorial online to make my first sunburst card using up some of my scrappy paper bits from my box, adding a Kaisercraft diecut butterfly, some seam binding and an apron lace border. Once I had finished this card I looked at the butterfly background and realized it looks a little purple, I promise it is pink, it is the same paper as is on the card. I popped the butterflies wings up on some foam dots sticking the middle down to add dimension.

This challenge is open until 3rd April, and you can add your project by using the Linky tool on the challenge page. Please remember to link your project back to us.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White cardstock folded to 10.5x14.8cm

Kaisercraft Decorative dies ‘Butterflies’
Paper Smooches ‘Sentiment Sampler’ stamp

Hoppy Easter

Hello again,

Hope all is well, some wild weather around just now, winter seems to have been biting back in the UK and States and we have been having a rather hot and steamy reminder of summer as the days get shorter and the leaves begin to change, yesterday was shorts and singlets weather and today is half the temperature of yesterday and warm woolies on, including a hot H2O bottle- although that's just because my back is sore.

I'm sharing a card I made to send to my niece along with a bag of Jelly Belly Jelly beans, as the last time we sent Easter Eggs they ended up thick flat lumps of chocolate after melting in the heat. One down two more to go, although they are more likely to be gift bags for my parents.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 5" x 7" card blank
Bright pink card stock DCWV
Crafters choice pastel basics
Scrap of check paper
Funky Fuchsia spray ink painted on frame
Bugaboo Stamps Free portrait make it snappy digi (can't find it in store)

PRIZE Three Images

I was given a beautiful image to work with from our sponsor called RIBBON ROSES, which you can find here in store Not sure why but decided that she would look good coloured in with yellow and oranges, not colours I usually reach for but it turned out well… after I had to fix a little mistake, I accidently cut off part of the flower and leaves after carefully cutting them out so they didn't get chopped off when I die cut the top of the image 😒, reprinting and colouring the flowers and leaves before popping them up on some foam tape

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello again,

I received a lovely email over the Christmas and New Year asking if I would be interested in joining the lovely ladies on the Crafting By Design design team and today brings me to my very first post as a member of the design team, I’m looking forward to working with the ladies who provide a lot of beautiful inspiration with every challenge they run.

This week the challenge is hosted by team member Sharon and we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day, the DT received a lovely image from our sponsor The Paper Shelter to work with called Nap in a cup featuring one little leprechaun obviously tired out from his hard work or perhaps a few too many drinks afterwards. The Paper Shelter will be giving the winner their choice of three digital stamps as the prize for the week.

Prize 3 images- Winners Choice

I coloured the leprechaun with Faber-Castell pencils and paper pieced the cup using some metallic paper from my bag of scraps, I created the sentiment in a basic document adding a clipart from the web tool. It reads “March 17th When everyone is Irish for the Day” with Happy St. Patrick’s Day beside the hat. St. Patrick’s Day is not a big event here in Aus, despite many of us having Irish Ancestry, including me! I believe there is a parade and family friendly event in the city always held the Sunday closest to St. Patrick’s Day, this year meaning it will be celebrated on the 18th… and of course pubs and clubs have plenty of drinking going on all day long.

What I used:-
White A5 card folded to 10.5x14.8cm to create card blank
White card stock for printing
Colour Printer
Faber-Castell Pencils
MFT Pierced circle dies
Fussy cutting scissors
Green spotted card- Christmas stash
Orange and metallic silver paper from scrap bags
Fiskars scalloped border punch
Adhesives:- PVA Glue, foam tape and double sided tape

Sentiment created with Grinched, Travelling Typewriter and Whiskey Bottle fonts

This challenge runs from today 15th to 21st March Sydney time (Midnight 14th to 23:59 20th US Eastern time) and you can join in adding your project with Mr. Linky on the post you can find here

Distress Oxide Flowers

Hello again,

My Mum asked for a birthday card for a friend she made when my older brother started pre-school, both recognised each other outside the pre-school, my Mum having worked in a bank in the city and her friend at the Coles supermarket nearby the bank, back in the day when supermarkets had staff hand people items from behind the counter, not the modern help yourself style store. Both moving west to the mountains to raise their families, when  steam trains were the mode of public transport in the 70's.

Mum's only real request is that the card was of a purple-y colour scheme, not too fussy as she doesn't keep her cards, I received the flowers dies during the week and decided to give them a try adding some double sided adhesive to the back of the card before I started, using a card I had seen on Pinterest as inspiration, my photo is not all that great, I may try for another one in better light tomorrow.
No it is not your eyes, the large part of the sentiment is slightly skewed, but it stuck well and fast, no moving it without causing more trouble..., admission although none of you can see it there is a slight issue with the border on the left and I was able to hide it with well placed greenery....

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 5x7" card blank (12.6 x 17.8cm)
Striped paper from stash
White textured cardstock
Green and metallic silver cardstock from scrap box
White cardstock
Distress Oxide Inks Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves
Water mister
MFT Stitched scalloped border die
MFT Layered Leaves Die
MFT Birthday die
MFT Label maker sentiment stamp
CCD Flower dies
Mauve bling from stash
Adhesives:-PVA glue, Double sided tape, adhesive sheet, Foam tape under smallest flower and stamped part of sentiment
