Ombre in Pinks

 Hello again,

Well, the last day of 2024 has arrived and here I am with a new Christmas card to start off my new stash of cards for Christmas 2025. I only just managed to get my skates on to join in with the last months challenge with the lovely ladies at Group of Seven, this time I have managed to get going and making my card early this month using the design element of Ombre.

I have used three of my Distress Oxide inks on plain cardstock starting in the middle with Picked Raspberry ink allowing the edges to soften as I move away from the centre, adding Spun Sugar ink to one end and blending over the top of the softened edge of picked raspberry, finally I opted for using Seedless Preserves starting at the edge of the card and working inwards to the softened edge of picked raspberry, ending up with variations from light to dark from the top down.

I have used Darkroom Door stamp set 'Brushed Christmas Vol.1' tree and star stamp which are heat embossed in Wow! Superfine Silver glitter powder adding a sentiment from LOTV 'Large Christmas Greetings' in White embossing powder. Adding a doodled border around the piece before adhering to the card base. The embossing ink was drying quickly in the heat, and we are expecting a cool change in a couple of days, before another return to mid 30C's

Here is my card:

What I used:

White 12.6x17.8cm card blank
White cardstock
Distress Oxide inks Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves
Darkroom Door Brushed Christmas Vol.1
LOTV Large Christmas
Clear embossing ink
Embossing powders White and silver glitter
Black fine line pen

Flower Power

 Hello again,

In my effort to join in some of the techniques shown over with the lovely ladies at Group of Seven, I have made a mostly white on white card for technique of Textured backgrounds using die cuts. I have used a floral die cut which had a variety of sized flowers glued them down to the card front and added triple cut sentiment dies inside a golden frame.

What I used:
White cardstock
Mystery dark pink cardstock
12.6x 17.8cm card blank
Cheery Lynn Shasta Daisy strip die
MFT Happy birthday sentiment die
Butterfly die (mystery brand- let me know if you recognise it)
Gold glitter card stock
Stitched rectangle dies
Clear crystal flat backed gems

I am adding this card to
NBUS Challenge 69 I am not sure how long this flower die has been in my stash! First outing, it even left some of the colour from the metal die behind (Cheery Lynn purple)

I hope you are all recovering after the holidays, we woke to an early morning storm which has started a bushfire from a lightning strike a couple of hours away.... the middle of a heat wave and high winds make storms more dangerous to the Aussie bush.

Thank you for looking in...

Have a wonderful week

Merry Christmas

 Hello again,

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, I hope you all have a wonderful time spent with family and friends and some delicious food... I will be back online after Christmas hopefully before New years...

Well Christmas is upon us, after lunch today I am starting to make the dessert for tomorrow... we are expecting summer highs of 27C tomorrow and getting warmer as the weekend approaches.

I need to print off some gift tags today as I have run out and so has the local store, I made this card for a friend who is travelling to see his parents for Christmas at the beach... the top seems to lean a little forward and perhaps the sentiment should have been placed down one side...

LPoCF #244 The Paper Shelter

 Hello again,

We are in the midst of another heatwave for our area, I don't like the heat and is hitting earlier than usual for our area, the government have worked with private company to reopen 'Pondi' again this year equipped with a Surf Life Saving team after a father drowned last summer in the river and disused sand mine that was turned into an area for Western Sydney families to have access to a place to cool down.

I have had a cortisone and anaesthetic injection to my ankle, not much change though...

I am back with another new challenge with my team mates over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, this is the last challenge for this year and will be open until the first few days of January next year!

This is the second card I made; I forgot that the new printer ink runs if I add liquid glitters... I have instead added clear embossing powder to 'Rudolph's nose' and some white embossing powder to the ground and snowman....

Black and Gold

 Hello again,

Well I feel like I have finally got some of my crafting mojo back after making 25 Christmas cards in the last month, I joined in with many of the Challenges from Beccy's Place and this card is one I did not get around to finishing, one of the extra prompts was Black and White plus one, I have a 6" paper pad from Couture Creations called Be Merry and Classic which is made up of black and cream or grey and cream designs, I also bought many years ago a pack of laser cut baubles with a snow flake design on it, I found one, not sure where the remaining have disappeared too.

I have made a 5x7inch card and cut the paper in the middle to make it fit, covering the gap with a band of paper. I also dug through my bag of ancient gold peel-off stickers to add a fancy string to the bauble and also a peel-off sentiment.

I have used a sketch seen on Kathy's blog Dunnit Again Designs which I resized to fit. When I eventually find the rest of the baubles, I will try adding different colours behind each one..

What I used: -
White 12.6x17.8cm card blank (5x7)
black paper
two different gold cardstocks
Be Merry and Classic Paper pad
peel off border and sentiment

Pudding rich and rare

 Hello again,

I am trying to finish off the card fronts I have made using up the scraps and two whole pages from a much-loved paper pad, I am down to the last three card fronts and some additional scraps.

Today I have managed to finish off four cards, the first is a square card which has 8 of the inchies and two rectangles to use them up leaving a central square to fill, last year international mail was slow arriving, so much so that the last of the Christmas themed stamp sets with magazines finally arrived in March, I got one of the sets out and inked up the little Christmas Pudding with some Distress Oxide ink 'ground espresso' coloured in with colouring pencils adding sentiment in memento tuxedo black finishing off with four hand punched stars.

What I used
13cm square card blank
LilyBee Designs paper pad
Magazine 'Chloe's Creative Cards Pudding stamp
Distress Oxide ink 'ground espresso'
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Memory Box Typed sentiment
Star shaped hand punch
