Christmas Card #1 for 2018

Hello again,

Well the hot summer temps are set to plummet today 30C tomorrow 17C almost a fifty percent drop, no more sleeping with frozen hot (should that be cold)water bottles 😄 and I have been enjoying the overcast days bringing some relief from the heat and it allowed me to get to my craft space and have a play with some of my goodies that arrived late last year before Christmas.

My aim for making 4-5 Christmas cards has gone out the window, here I am with one day left of January and I have made just one, maybe I’ll catch up next month post-surgery while I take things easy, or not. I have made enough progress for my Bondi Physio to send me off to see a local physio for yoga/pilates stretches and treatment- which will begin in April as she is a popular physio. I can now last 15mins on my feet before I start feeling ill, only issue is as my Physio has untwisted my muscles other problems have been stirred up, meaning my stamping/colouring ability has shortened😞 my arm gets tired and I turn white in the face. Progress is progress and slow and steady is working well. Small steps everyday. Whinging over. 😊

I made a 5x7” card using a mix of papers and scraps from my stash, I had thought of this card when I ordered the semi circle and reindeer dies from AliExpress last year, it turned out a little darker than I planned on, not being able to find the paler woodgrain paper I wanted to use. Quite a masculine card, I think it would look great using some tartan paper too...

Here’s my Card:-

What I used:-

White 5x7” card blank-12.6x17.8cm

Green, woodgrain, white and kraft card and papers

Glitter paper black and silver

Clear Wink of Stella pen

AliExpress- CCD Stag and Cross-Stitched semi circle dies (cut to form frame)

Memory Box Frosted Spruce die

Marianne Design Merry Christmas sentiment die

Star die

Silver peel off sticker stars

Adhesives:- Glue Pen, double-sided tape, foam tape

LPoCF Charming Spring Girl

Hello again,

Today brings us to a new Anything goes Challenge for Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, we would love to see what you have been making, all comers and crafters welcome, we have one lovely sponsor this fortnight The Paper Shelter will be giving the lucky winner Three digi stamps as a prize.

PRIZE 3 Digi Stamps

I have used a super cute image and card layout from The Paper Shelter called ‘Charming Spring Girl’ I have used the pre Coloured image and card composition, I printed the background card layout and the little girl is both printed on the main panel and printed again at the same size, so I could cut her and the little bird out and layer them on with some foam dots. I added some flowers from my stash; two die cut fern leaves and pearls to finish before adhering to the front of a 14cm square card.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-

White cardstock

White 14cm Square card blank

Olive Green card scrap

Happy New Year

Hello again,

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year Holiday, got together with friends and family for some of the time... Wishing you all a Happy, safe, healthy and crafty 2018

Well it is high time for me to rejoin the blogging world, although I have not done any crafting this year, yet.... we have been having a hot hot hot summer which puts me off being in my craft space, I also needed to tidy my craft area for a couple of reasons, one being the switch over to the NBN network, rather than using a mobile wifi device (which in my case was always connected by cables to my PC), which has meant running cables from the new modem in the kitchen to my PC, thankfully all looked after by Dad and my Uncle and all under the house! Our home phone and internet bills are now less than half of what we were paying as a big bonus, the tidying also needed because my table had become over run with bits and pieces and needs a thorough clean up.... not to mention the very crafty Christmas I had...

I am sharing today the calendars I made using a template found online, I made 7 owls and so far one more masculine free standing calendar... I didn't remember to photograph all the owls so here are two of them.... all made with scraps (mostly hanging around my desk type scraps)

and here is the more masculine calendar which I made using a 5x7" card blank with an added 'w' folded card scrap to help keep it upright (card fold at the top)

I like the fold on the above calendar and am already planning on making these come the end of 2018...

What I used:- Owls
Cardstock in various colours
papers from stash- polka dot paper and doodlebug DP
Calendar blanks
Nesting circle dies
Tiny brads
Template from Papercraft inspirations
Adhesives:- Glue stick, Adhesive sheet, double sided tape and foam dots

These calendars have been well received, one friend telling me that she has had a snowy white owl visiting her garden, she thinks it is nesting in her neighbours yard as she sees it quite regularly.

What I used:- Masculine
White card scrap to create the prop at the bottom (looks like 'w')
Papers from stash of magazine freebies
Calendar blank
CCD Boat die
Say it in Crystals strips rounded to the circle edge
Wave shape die (not sure of maker)
Scrap papers from stash
Black fine line pen
Nesting circle die
Adhesives:- Double sided tape, adhesive sheet
