Chester Merry Christmas

Hello again,

I have resurfaced from the depths of pain and am feeling well enough to be back at the computer (back to my tolerance level of pain)

Okay so this month (yes I know it’s almost over) I have been really slack on making my Christmas cards and now have only two days left to get them done, so this one has been sitting semi assembled on my piles of mess otherwise known as a desk. :-)

My neighbour’s two sons are too old for us to choose presents for and their Mum would rather us not buy a Chocolate filled stocking, so cards with cash are the order of the day.

This is my second double ‘z’ card and I have cut a slit and pocket in the back of the card to poke some cash in closer to Christmas, doing this slit caused no problems at all (not) I have created some very large scraps ;-)

Earlier this year I was a lucky winner over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I got to choose some digi stamps, I’m partial to cute monkeys and little Chester found over at LMMS really is a little cutie.

Here is my card:-

now that the card is finished I have just realised how hard it is going to be to write inside it... never mind a slip of paper can be slid and glued in place...

What I used:-
White 14cm square card blank
Rouge AC cardstock
Echo Park Recollections Paper ‘Holiday Ornaments’
Faber-Castell Pencils
White cardstock (printer)
Memory Box die Sweet Candy Canes
Cottage cutz mini holly berry die
MFT Pierced Square dies
Scalloped rectangle die
Red bling from stash
Scrap red striped and green cardstock
Clearly Besotted Sweet little Sentiments stamps
Create with TLC sentiment
Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad
White glitter
Adhesives: PVA glue, double-sided and foam tape

Coffee o'clock

Hello again,

Time for a second post today for another card for our family history friend, who loves coffee! and takes it to the local family history centre at the Latter Day Saint Church, (she is an assistant with the family history centre and is not a member of the church.)

I had this wonderful image from Paulette over at Create with TLC and a collection of Coffee quotations collected from purchases and freebies.

I usually stick to original image colours and this time decided to change colours and just press print, I'm sure I chose red on screen but it came out much darker than anticipated, so not having much in the way of coffee themed papers and having a very deep red (read burgundy) I reached for my Christmas paper pad!

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White 5" x 7" card blank
Printed image from Create with TLC
Sentiment from Create with TLC
Kaisercraft 'Yuletide' Paper
Prima Botanical Collection

Fiskars Daisy Dew border punch
MFT Framing Flourishes
Memory box dies Coffee Bean collection
Memory box die Coffee on the go

Science Guy

Hello again,

What a long week last week was, still no answer from pain clinic, buck passing again... 'it's not my area' strange that I can have a physio who understands and can print text book images of what I'm talking about but Dr's....

Still sharing some of the cards I made last month, this one is headed for a teen science whizz...

I downloaded and printed a periodic table to create the nerdy sentiment... overlaying cardstock scraps (held with washi) and running it back through the printer until I had all the letters I needed

Here's my card:-

Okay so the paper I used came from a $2 shop I chose the area with some random patterns and colours mixed through it and used a stencil for the first time with some red and white Colorbox ink to add some more interest to the background paper.

What I used:-

What I used:
Green graffiti paper from stash
White card blank
Black and white cardstock from scraps (large and small)
Faber-Castell Pencils
Francheville enamel stickers
Bella Droplets enamel stickers
Memory box stencil ‘zippy dots’
Red and white Colorbox ink pads
Black and white printable Periodic Table
Diamond glaze on glasses, flasks and dotted around boy

Adhesives:- Double-sided tape and foam tape

I would like to enter this card in:-

and the lovely Christina over at Memories Crafter is having a giveaway before her blog undergoes some changes. Please feel free to join in the more the merrier!

For the Chef

Hello again,

Today I am sharing another card I made for my Mum's friend who requested a card for her daughter in law who enjoys cooking, after thinking about things for awhile I decided to use a chef's hat as the focus with some great paper from my stash of Doodlebug designs. I have elongated a chef's hat pattern from an old Cards for Men mini magazine from Papercraft Inspirations.

I did not have to attach any sequins exactly where they ended up because of glue issues ;-) not at all!

Here is my Card:-

What I used:
White card blank 10.5cm x 14.7cm
Doodlebug Design Papers from stash
Iridescent yellow sequins
MFT stitched circle die
MFT pierced fishtail flag die
Various scrap papers to create hat and egg lift
Yellow Ochre Color box inkpad
Black fine line pen
Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad
Lawn Fawn Riley’s Alphabet to create sentiment
Adhesives:- Double-sided tape, Diamond Glaze & foam tape

Camera Double 'z'

Hello again,

Well I'm still catching up on cards I made for some July Birthdays almost all male, now that they have all been received I can post them here.

This card was for my Dad's birthday, since taking up studying has become a family affair he likes to head to cemeteries taking photo's of headstones, some plain and simple others large ornate headstones.

I made my first 'Double Z' card (at least I think that is what this fold is called) I did of course make a couple of errors, you know measure twice cut once... and if I'd thought of it I probably should have hidden the backs of the brads behind the silver card before attaching it to the card blank... never mind... and I could have made the lens into a shaker element if I'd thought of that at the time too...

The extra special enamel dots you can see behind the camera has nothing to do with hiding anything like glue from dropping the blue rhinestone on the card either ;-)

Here's my card:-

from a different angle...

What I used:-
White 14cm square card blank
Metallic pinstripe cardstock colour- let’s call it Keyboard beige…
Amy Tangerine paper ‘Ready Set Go’
Silver and black card paper scraps
Circle and scalloped circle dies
Square black brads
Enameled red brad
Acetate (from packaging)
X-Press it Glitter deco tape silver
Star shaped paper clip
8mm blue rhinestone
Bella! Droplets black circles and white triangles
Paper Smooches Sentiment sampler stamps

Memento tuxedo black ink pad

What Can you Play.... I can play

Hello again,

Today I am sharing another card I have made for my Mum's friend from Family History group she attends, this card is for her grand-daughter who likes music, after further clarification I found out she is learning to play the trombone and after a search online I found a black and white outline of a trombone and printed it to fit a card (it was A4), I used some silver card scraps for the trombone and mounted it with foam tape over an embossed panel. I used my new MFT stamps and die set to create a banner and knowing that this card was being packed in luggage it was safe for me to add some chunky embellishments, so I grabbed a tiny peg and broke it in half to hold the ends of the banner in place.

Here is my card:-

What I used:-
White card blank
Silver card stock
Pink Chevron paper Pebbles basics paper pad
Pink, silver, metallic silver, white and musical script card scraps
Trombone pattern downloaded from internet
Spell binders M-bossabilities (EL-011) Musical
MFT LJD Bitty Banners Stamp and Die Set
Blue Lagoon Colorbox ink pad
Darice blue and white twine
Kaisercraft blue rhinestones
Tiny blue peg broken in half
Musical note punch
Impression Obsession Greeting top edgers
Four tiny black brads

Adhesives:- Double sided tape, foam tape, diamond glaze and P.V.A. glue

Shifting Gears or Years?
