Paper Pieced #1 Snowman

Hello again...

Today I am sharing a card I made for the From the Heart Stamps Stamp of the Month Challenge, each month those who join in with the stamp challenge will receive the following months image for free, if you would like to join in this month’s image is called Snowman and Cocoa and you can buy the image for just $1 or if you find some lovely stamps in Faith’s store to buy and you spend $10 or more you can enter a code found here  to get the both image and some sentiments free with your order.

I knew what main paper, die I was going to use and I wanted to paper piece the snowman’s hat, scarf and gloves. For those of you who have visited me before know, I try to avoid too many snow related Christmas cards since I like many others celebrate a Summer Christmas, so I have used a sentiment word-art image from Paulette over at TLC
Creations and plan on sending this card to my Uncle and Aunt in July, a month in Australia where many hotels, restaurants and guest houses celebrate Yulefest and the more traditional cold climate Christmas. My Uncle and Aunt will get a laugh out of it, a few years ago we went out on a River cruise During Yulefest for my Uncle's birthday.

On to my card, I printed out the image once on plain A5 paper, then used washi tape to hold my small pieces of papers over the image before re-printing onto the patterned papers, which were from my scraps I cut them each a little larger than what I needed only covering the area I wanted printed I found some scrappy pieces already embossed in my stash I had my fingers crossed for this to get through the printer without any paper jams. All the pieces were fussy cut and I attached some directly on top of the snowman and raised others up on little sticky foam pieces.
I added some sparkle to the white parts of his hat with Wink of Stella pen.

Here’s my card:-

White 14.8cm x 10.5cm card blank

Please Define Good

Hello again,

Today I decided to join in the lovely ladies of From the Heart Stamps weekly sketch with a twist, which you can see below, the lovely design team has created a wonderful variety of cards for our inspiration, which you can see over at the From the Heart Stamps blog.

On the weather front, I am still wearing little more than a singlet and pair of shorts around the house, I have drunk a copious amount of water today, the washing dried in under 1.5 hours and smelt like freshly ironed clothes as it came off the line. Today we had a 36C day about 97F, I’m looking forward to the near normal summer temperature tomorrow of 25C and Saturday’s 19C will be wonderful (I am a true cool climate girl), but our summer is planning on continuing rising back up to 30C early next week. Any one got a spare bucket or two of snow they’d like to share.

One bonus of the heat wave is that nothing takes too long to dry, including the PVA glue with a load of glitter tipped on top!

Here’s my card:-

What I used:-
White 5x7” card blank (12.7 x 17.8cm)
White card stock (printing)
Kraft Card
Derwent & Faber-Castell Pencils
Red card stock from stash
Doodlebug Design Papers 1998 Merry Argyle
Doodlebug Design North Pole scraps
Clear iridescent sequins
White glitter
Twine and Sheer Ribbon
Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Rectangle Dies
Lawn Fawn Stitched Label Die
MFT Stitched circle dies
MFT sentiment Strips
Sentiments from Pink Petticoat (now closed) and TLC Creations
Adhesives:- Double-sided tape, PVA glue, sticky dots, Foam tape

Holly's Tree

Hello again,

Today I am sharing a larger card I have had sort of half started in a box on my table found whilst tidying up my bit's, I found the picture called Holly’s Christmas Tree (from Di’s Digi Stamps) I had coloured while my niece was visiting last month and decided that this would finish off my half-finished model in the box. Time to be honest…. I had made the card for a completely different image which I then wrecked with a mess of double-sided tape and an extra layer of matting to make it super fancy, but the image ended up torn almost right through, it made its way to the recycling box… leaving me with the basic card already embellished and all.

Here’s my card:-

What I used:-

P.S. I felt very silly sitting making a wintry Christmas card in a pair of shorts and a singlet top, this week summer appears to have planned a last hurrah this weeks minimum will be 22C. To those who are cold stay warm and those like me stay cool.

P.P.S A huge thanks to all the lovely ladies who take the time to leave me a message when they visit, I truly appreciate them all!

Birdbrain Christmas Cheer

Hello again,

Okay I'm running late with this post which I have typed up ready to go but didn't get enough day light to take a photo of my card, so here's the bit about being late, despite time zone differences I always endeavour to have my card made by the specific time and date here... but this entry will be posted on February 1st a few hours before Mr. Linky closes on 31st January... sorry ladies for being late, three days of stormy weather from noon til late did not help nor the power going off/on during storms.

On to my card a usual small size card blank covered with  My Mind's Eye 'Mistletoe Magic' papers and one of Faith Skrdla's Birdbrain digi's which I love so much.

I have another Christmas card ready to go for the 12 months of Christmas Link-up where this month their optional theme is a sketch, I have opted out of the sketch this time and have again used a From the Heart Stamps image. I'm also playing along with the ABC Christmas Challenge, Holly Jolly Christmas team and a few Anything Goes Challenges.

Here’s my card:-
