Not your average Christmas Colours

Hello again...

Today I am sharing a card which I made for a couple of the current Christmas Challenge blogs, this week over at Case-ing Christmas Cohenna has made a fabulous card featuring a cute little fairy which you can see here. If you would like to join in the challenge you can find it here

The digi stamp I used was won over at Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas challenge earlier this year, QKRstampede Peace angel digi and
I finally got around to colouring a couple of the images!!! I coloured the digi using a mix of Faber-Castell and Derwent pencils, why did I choose a gorgeous peach colour for her dress? Well, I had just got some new paper which I had planned on using, but, you know, best laid plans and all I decided on some scrap papers donated to my stash by my favourite newsagent instead.

What I used:
White Card blank 10.5cm x 15cm
Pink card
Steel Rule and Stanley Knife
MFT Pierced Circle Die
Core-dinations Gemstone 'Tigers Eye'
My Minds Eye Papers
Pink border strip from stash
Bella! Droplets
Sentiment stamp Happy Christmas (Spellbinders Christmas Creations cover gift)
Black Memento ink pad

I would like to enter this card in:

Noel

Hello again...

Well I had two surprises in two days, my card for the last challenge for Jingle belles was lucky enough to be selected as one of the top three. I must say I was extremely happy as Stef, Lauren and the Jingle Belles crew was the first card blog I visited frequently, playing along at home not game enough to enter my cards for close to four years. Thank you ladies you truly made my day!

Okay bragging over...;-)

On to this weeks challenge over at Case-ing Christmas, this week I took my inspiration purely from Ellen's sentiment, you can see her beautiful creation here. I was going to use silver and white and handcut noel from mirror board but this weeks time constraints won't allow, I will save that for another card.

I previously posted a gift box with a cute little penguin image from one of my favourite designers, whom has passed away, I have used a second digi image from Shirley Toogood, which was from the Papercraft inspirations website, changes to their site no longer provides access to the digi I used, but Shirley's blog is still up and has a few digi images available.

I coloured my image with Derwent pencils and fussy cut it out

What I used:
DL card blank
Pink polka dot paper
White glitter card
Pink Card
Pink linen paper
Noel Digi from Papercraft Inspirations
Peace Digi from ?? (if you own the Peace on earth digi- let me know)
Fiskars Circle Punch
Mpress Scalloped circle die

Santa is Near...

Hello again…

Well I had a very Happy surprise when I turned on my PC today, discovering that I was chosen as Santa Supreme from Case-ing Christmas’s 13th Challenge. Thank you ladies for being so very kind.

Okay its not very often that you hear non-card makers talk about Christmas at this time of the year, but this morning when heading out I caught the bus to do some shopping and when boarding the driver had to write the date on the other passengers ticket, he commented “Look it’s nearly Christmas again” I had to smile, as I had left my card at home drying…

This week at Case-ing Christmas Rocky made this gorgeous card with an embossed ornament front and centre, as you can see her colour scheme is red and white, and this is what I took my inspiration from.

Here’s my take on Rocky’s card

14cm Square Card blank

Baa, ram, ewe

Hello again,

Happy Easter to one and all

I have made another Christmas card in between making two wedding cards, which I will post after the big event, this week I have combined a couple of challenges, Jingle Belles are in the mood for some Christmas Songs, Holly Jolly Christmas Crew would like us to ‘Feature a Creature’, Crafty Hazelnut Christmas would like to see some cute and cuddly,  and as always I am up for using up my piles of scraps.

I have used a Spellbinders embossing folder to create the musical background for my card, using white cored card pack from DCWV and distressing the embossing with sand paper, the design paper is from my scrap bags, some mulberry paper flowers, I coloured the digi stamp with Derwent pencils and the digi was from Tiddly Inks last year.
By the way you should hear this sung by 3-6 year olds!

I would like to enter this card in:

Case-ing Christmas #13

Hello again...

Well this week Judy made the most glorious Christmas Card to case over at Case-ing Christmas, which you can see here:

I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I saw Judy's card...

I made my own background paper using violet, aqua and ultra deep blue acrylic paint, first wetting down the paper then adding dots of paint randomly over the surface before dragging a wide brush through the paint to blend them together. When the paint dried I sprayed some white pearlescent ink over the surface, later I added some stars in two sizes in Metallic silver ink, before trimming to size.

Wow is Mirror board hard to photograph! I kept getting my camera showing up in the reflection. I hope that you can see the star is silver and not blackish which is what I can see in the photo's.

What I used:
White 15cmx10.5cm card blank
Metallic purple paper (gift wrap)
Silver Mirror board Star (from Educational Supplier)
MFT small Fancy flourish
Mpress rectangle die
Sentiment from Pink Petticoat's Tiny Christmas Sentiment
Silver gel ink pen- doodling around the edge
Metallic Silver ink
Star stamps
Violet, Aqua & Ultra Deep Blue Acrylic paints
Extra white card
Scrap silver papers
Sticky foam pads & double sided tape

I am entering this card in
Case-ing Christmas #13
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas- Stick it anyway you like
Sparkle Creations Christmas- Anything goes
