Case-ing Christmas

Case-ing Christmas

Well I thought that after playing along at home with a few of the various Christmas card Challenge Blogs I should probably have a go at entering

I found a new Christmas Card Challenge blog last week
which you can read all about here: Case-ing Christmas
this week the card to case is:

I chose to follow the layout of the card opting for an MFT Ornament die and three poinsettia cut and embossed with Marianne Dies using up scraps of similar shades of cream. I stamped the sentiment on with white ink and added two brads and three eyelets.

I would like to enter this card in Case-ing Christmas 4th Challenge

Oops...

Well I guess by now that you have figured out I am a Newby at blogging... I should have had this one on first, never mind, I get it eventually... ;-)

This is my entry into Sundays Sketch at the Bugaboo 5th Birthday Bash...

Here is the Bugaboo design sketch

I used Cupcake Sprinkles

I coloured the image using Faber-Castell pencils.

Here is my card, this card is larger than my others at 5x7" I am determined to start using up my stash of freebies, the background paper is from a magazine cover-kit, I created party hats using MFT Die-namics - LJD Bitty Banners - and my Cuttlebug and a mini punch using up scraps of My Minds eye Happy Day 6x6" Paper pad and some pearlescent corrugated card scraps lifting the checked on up on foam pads for some dimension before adding some Fairy Krystal glitter paint on the white icing, finishing of with a sentiment from Paulette at  TLC Creations Blog mounted on Poppy stamps small Tilda swirl.

Funny Birthday Project

Entry number two in Bugaboo's 5th Birthday Bash is
Wednesday Make a FUNNY Birthday project

I coloured Frog Leaping bought as part of Jodie's 12 Days of Christmas set with pencils and added Hoppy Birthday as the sentiment.

Two Cards...

I was asked to create a birthday card for a young teenage girl who liked sewing, netball and academics. I decided to go down the sewing lane for the basis for the card, after creating the first I decided it looked to grown up for a thirteen year old and opted to make a second card which was gratefully received...

I folded the dress from a pattern in the Papercraft Inspirations Magazine issue 129 (September 2014) and printed a dress-makers mannequin digi from Carmen at beyondthefringecrafts the background papers are from Amy Tangerine ready set go pack which I picked up at Spotlight on special for $10 sometime last year, the shelf was a scrap of paper leftover from a magazine and the dress was made with Echo Park Dots essentials.

This card was created using up many different papers from many different sets, some bought like the larger heart shape others are from various papercraft magazines. I have made friends with one of the local newsagents and he regularly supplies me with leftover cover gifts rather than them going to waste, I keep some and share the others. The canvas heart was blanket stitched with blue thread both kindly donated to  my stash by my local newsagent.

My week in cards...

This week I have made a few cards for Bugaboo's 5th Birthday Bash, which will be my first entry ever.   I have been making cards for around seven years, I previously cross stitched and mounted them on to plain cards accompanied with a peel-off sentiment.

The first one is Bugaboo Birthday cake which you can find here http://www.bugaboostamps.com/birthday-cake_p_2368.html coloured with pencils, diecut with mpress circles, a touch of doodling around the image, striped paper came from an old 6" stack (originally from- big w australia) some navy card, the dot paper is from echo park essentials collection aptly named DOTS, a narrow strip of holographic adhesive paper and finally some paper string from Tim Holtz-

I am entering this card in Bugaboo's Monday challenge and I was inspired by the cake layers, the spots and stripes on the cakes icing.

Recent Christmas Cards

... A place to share some of the many cards I create, usually Christmas Cards and other cards for family and friends...

This design is simple, effective and easy to mass produce- I hand cut scraps of hand made paper and used basic dies and the sentiment is a piece of washi tape, I bought at a craft show backed with white paper.

One of my favourite Digi Stamp designers is Jodie, from Bugaboo Stamps www.bugaboostamps.com who is a very kind and generous lady sharing a free digi stamp every week. She will soon be celebrating Bugaboo's fifth birthday and will be having a Birthday Bash

this card was also using up some of the many scraps I have created over the years, and the embossing was one I created whilst experimenting with a new folder it is Spellbinders M-Bossabilities, the sentiment was made up of a chipboard oval from a magazine collection and Christmas is Elizabeth Craft Design die cut with my Cuttlebug.

I decided to use up some scraps, creating over 30 owls using the Cottage Cutz Festive Owl Set. Which I have had for many years http://www.scrappingcottage.com/

I created this cards sentiment  and printed it directly on to the card, I love that the owls can all have different expressions depending on the placement of their eyes.

This card has a double row of washi tape which the owls are sitting above and the sentiment is from Paulette's artfire store and her blog is here: http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com.au/ Paulette is also a very kind and generous lady sharing each day a sentiment and at different times some free papers and vintage images
